When Lovita Mae Horton wins a trip for two to attend a cooking school in Paris, she invites her best friend, Sue Jan Pritchard, along. Their joy is short-lived however, when they find out the trip is to Paris, Texas. Sue Jan has family there - Aunt Lila and Cousin Pouncey - but discovers her eccentric Cousin Pouncey has just passed away.
When Sue Jan's unique antique platinum engagement ring goes missing, they suspect she lost it when saying her last goodbyes.
With her wedding only a few months away, Lovita, Sue Jan, and Aunt Lila decide to unearth the ring on their own. Instead they dig up the dirt on an international ring of art thieves intent on brushing them off for good.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I listen to audiobooks while I drive for work......from 500-1000 miles every 2 weeks. So that amounts to a lot of books. This narrators rendition of Sue Jan's voice (and all the characters, really) was so ear-splitting I actually got a headache listening to two chapters. I listen through the Bluetooth in my car, and I found myself turning down the volume at Sue Jan's voice, then having to turn it up with other characters. Very distracting to driving......AND the story. I'm probably going to read the rest of it (only because it's a series) and will keep an eye out for this narrator. I realize reading a novel aloud must be difficult, but this is not the series for her. Sorry. I only gave the story 2 stars because I don't remember it.Has A Tisket, A Casket turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, but only because I've listened to another one that I enjoyed. What didn’t you like about Sarah Nicole Ruddy’s performance?
Um, the ear splitting voice that gave me a headache in two chapters. What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Where's my Tylenol? Thank goodness I have no more patients to see today. Pullover and buy another book.Read it.....DON'T LISTEN TO IT.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
The story was ok but the performance was awful. What was one of the most memorable moments of A Tisket, A Casket?
How could the performance have been better?
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Any additional comments?

The story wasn't the best either, just okay but the narration of Sue Jan's voice is absolutely CRAZY to listen to.
I did buy book 3 and am just starting it WITH A DIFFERENT NARRATOR (thank goodness) and I'll let you know how this one goes.
OH, I found a good little series... check out the "Shelby Nichols Adventures"... This little gal gets struck by lightening in the 1st book and it gets real interesting from there on... you know, a special power? Like this series quite a lot... good narration, VERY pleasant voice and the stories have been good. I'm on my 4th in the series right now. Give a listen and see what you think?
OMGOSH!! FAIR WARNING IN REVIEW!!

The narrator tried so hard to focus on voices/accents that she forgot the basics like consistent volume and clearly articulating the words. Some voices were SO LOUD that I had to turn the sound down. Then the next voice was so quiet and mumbled that I had to turn the sound back up. This happened so often that I got frustrated at the need to constantly adjust the volume and I couldn't even follow the story. The worst part though was Sue Jan's voice. It was extreme and awful - high pitched, VERY loud, whiny and horribly screechy. It literally hurt my ears, which was a problem since she's one of the main characters.
I strongly suggest you skip this one in audio. The narrator for the first book was fine so hopefully they went back to her after this book...haven't checked that yet.
couldn't get past the horrible narration
