Publisher's summary

Historian Lizzie Petrie remains nothing more than a lesbian in her bitter mother’s eyes. The suppressed hurt of that superficial assessment means she still catches herself off guard when thinking of Sarah as her wife. The couple has endured the fallout of Lizzie’s insecurities and set up house in Fort Collins, Colorado. Now their relationship is about to be tested again.

When her wife announces she wants to have a baby, Lizzie panics. A baby? The thought of sucking an egg from her ovary and implanting the resulting embryo into Sarah’s womb terrifies her. Lizzie constantly worries if she’ll make a good mother. Just when she starts to make peace with the idea, Lizzie’s estranged family enters her life again. The news is anything but good, and she finds herself wondering how to make amends with her aloof mother, stranger of a father, and self-centered brother.

Deep down, Lizzie is more loving and caring than she ever gives herself credit. Sometimes it takes a tragedy to open a woman’s eyes to her full potential. But at what price?

A Match Made In Heaven!

T. B. Markinson’s clever, witty, funny writing read by, the incomparable Stephanie Murphy. What’s not to love? I hope there’s going to be a book 3.

Excellent!

I loved the audio edition of A Woman Ignored. I can really identify with a woman struggling to “act” normal. Trying to fit in. Sometimes the teasing Lizzie gets from her wife and best friend seem a little to harsh to me. Stephanie Murphy does an excellent job with the narration.

The saga continues

I liked Lizzie much better in this story. Even though she was dealing with some life changing issues there were moments I had to chuckle at. Lizzie has already come a long way and I look forward to her and Sarah raising kids. Stephanie has managed to get all the voices perfect. On to the next😉

Great follow up novel

Welcome to the life of Lizzie Petrie who is successful at love despite herself, and more importantly her upbringing. Her character continues to unfold in this follow up novel to A Woman Lost. Petrie is a fitting name because there she is, in a small container (this novel as opposed to a petrie dish) and we get to watch what happens as life throws it's challenges at her. As the story unfolds, it's easy to fall in love with Lizzie and her craziness, with Sarah her partner and the stability and stretch she provides for Lizzie, and their best friend Maddie, who keeps them on their toes and laughing, all in the name of love. The topics are not light in this book, but the beauty of a soul unearthed and given wings is the gift we get from reading or listening. I didn't like Lizzie very much in the first book. I barely got through it because I found her so odious. But she shines through at the end of the first book and even more so throughout this book. I can't wait until the baby comes!

Great sequel

This is the sequel of A Woman Lost, and book two of the series. I won’t get tired saying this is one of my very favourite series. I’m always glad to have the opportunity to read more about Lizzie.

I loved Lizzie from the beginning in book one, despite being so lost and so self-centred. I loved this book so much because we witness her growth as a different woman. Despite of still being a bit lost, she is definitely changing thanks and for Sarah. Was so great to see how even when she was terrified of become a mother and that she didn’t thought she could be a good mother, she is determined to make her wife happy, fighting her own insecurities and family history.

We get to learn more about Lizzie’s family, where she comes from, and that help undoubtedly to understand her more. The Petries aren’t easy by any means; no wonder why she wants to stay away from them as much as possible. But life for Lizzie is always full of surprises and sadly not the good kind; I feel for her, that life is a struggle upon struggle, but I am glad she has Sarah and how they are growing as a couple. Also, it is very interesting to see her relationship with her mother. We discover so many things along the road, making us love her more.

It is a great read, wonderful sequel. Markinson did a great job. I had a great time reading this book, as usual enjoying big time Lizzie’s inner thoughts.

This one is also narrated by Stephany Murphy and she once again did a fantastic job, she always manages to transmit all the feels and real deal of the raw emotions, Capturing Markinson’s story very well.

A must read undoubtedly, even when can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend to read the prequel and book one before this one, it’s undoubtedly a great and very enjoyable series.

The perfect fallow up to book one of “A Woman Lost”

I really enjoy this Author and I have read this
book/ series pryer to the audiobooks release. I’m happy to say First, the Narrator Stephanie Murphy was spot on with each of the characters and made them very believable as the story progressed. Second I found that i truly enjoyed listening to this audiobook just as much as I did the first book. It was perfect! I was drawn in to each character and with this book I found myself truly invested. I am fully aware that there’s book three “A Family Woman” to this series ... I definitely will be picking that one up in audiobook form too.

Well done to the author and Narrator! Well done! 15 stars across the board 😉

T.B. Markinson and Stephanie Murphy do it again!!!

I have listened to all of the books in this series so far. They are amazing and entertaining. Lizzie is so clueless that it is almost as scary as it is funny. Sarah and her friends help her navigate life but the curve balls that get lobbed in this book make for emotional and humorous reading. Stephanie Murphy does an amazing job again in this book of bringing life to all of the characters. The family dynamics that play out in this book are sadly believable and incredible at the same time. I would encourage folks who like women loving women fiction to take the time to enjoy this series. I started with book 0 am headed to read the continuing journey that Lizzie, her wife and friends travel. Maybe Lizzie will get a clue...but I like her head in the sand regarding real time ideas. Check it out.

Witty and charming

I really enjoyed this book! TB Markinson has a very witty sense of humor in her writing style! I bet she has a wicked streak in her!

Stephanie Murphy does an excellent job narrating the storyline!

The book however seems to be recorded in a slower speed so I recommend speeding it up to 1.2X
