wickedly Suspenseful!!

This is an extremely fast moving story; a page turner, if you will, and holds plenty of twists to keep the reader just a bit off balance right up until the end.

Legal Thriller

I enjoyed this legal mystery it held my interest as snobby nosed lawyer actually changes to help the underdogs. Michael’s father actually forced him into the situation of legal aid then wanted to go back to the elite law firm but he stuck with what he found he really enjoyed. He defends people /teens that are unprivileged and fight for them. Recommend to anyone who enjoys listening to legal mysteries (narration was great).I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher. Thank you.

Good storyline, but needs different narrator

I was provided this book for free for an unbiased review. The storyline is good, but I almost gave up on finishing it because the narration was so bad.

Discovery of a wonderful new thriller author!!

While searching for legal thrillers I ran across Adequate Counsel, the first novel by O.R. Johnson. There is a lot to like about this wonderful legal thriller. The characters are well developed, the plot is plausible, there is real humanity in the characters and the plot, the suspense is intense and sustained, and the novel is well written. She, the author, is a very talented writer. I look forward to future novels from O.R. Johnson. Narration is simply superb! The narrator is very good with accents. I VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this wonderful novel.

Riveting

I really enjoy legal genres and this book is quite addictive. I usually listen on my hour commute to work and the hour back, but could not stop listening. I started listening yesterday and finished it at work today.
This book brings a horrifying reminder to the reader about the problems that those who are from a low socio-economic background encounter.
The only issue I had was that it was difficult to differentiate some of the voices.

Loved the story…

But didn’t enjoy the narrator. When it came to the black characters she was totally off. Things are said a certain way and she failed to capture that. Otherwise thought this was good.

Adequate Counsel

Adequate Counsel
: O.R. Johnson

A new author, a legal mystery , thriller, with a lot of suspense. A teenage girl is accused of stabbing her father to death. A public defender that isn't happy with where he is because of circumstances. When he is assigned her case the story develops into a Topsy turvey roller coaster ride to a somewhat surprising ending. I see where there may be a sequel and I want to listen.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Christine Rogerson has a unique voice.

An absorbing tale

"Adequate Counsel" (2016) by O.R. Johnson is an absorbing tale about a young, smug, attorney named Michael Ayers, who is forced to take a job with the Public Defender’s Office after losing his position with his father’s prominent law firm. Ayers learns to care about his indigent clients, especially a sixteen-year-old girl accused of murdering her father. The story, complete with intrigued and romance, is well written and well narrated, the latter by professional narrator Christine Rogerson. Solidly recommended. Book given free in exchange for honest review.
