About this listen

My name is George Sachs. I'm a clinical psychologist and expert in adult ADD. I also have adult ADD, so much of what I teach comes from my own personal experience. I have experimented with many methods on the market with much trial and error. Lots of errors! I was never satisfied with the books I read on adult ADD, as the advice was hard to follow and was clearly not created by someone with ADD. The tools, tips, and techniques I developed for this audiobook have been field tested by me and my clients.

This audiobook is just the beginning of a lifetime of learning about your unique symptoms. In 30 days, you will learn what critical areas of your life need more attention. Many of my clients have tried medication, hoping for a miracle to cure their worst symptoms. The truth is medication can be effective for some, but most of my clients stop taking it because of the side effects - and then where are they? No better off than when they first started. That is why I coach them that they need to learn tools and new techniques to better manage their lives with adult ADD. That is what this audiobook does - offering 30 days of holistic, actionable advice that can be implemented immediately. With no negative side effects!

I believe in a holistic approach that starts with sleep, diet, and exercise, and that includes emotional, relational, and spiritual practices to truly overcome adult ADD. This audiobook deals with more than just tips to become more organized. We examine the impact of a life of untreated adult ADD and how that affects self-esteem, relationships, and overall success. The key word is overall. That is our holistic approach, because adult ADD affects all areas of one's life.

It Was Fine Enough..

I Always prefer when an author does their own narration. It's like going to a concert, and a cover band showing up.
For me, personally, I didn't get a ton from this book. YouTube videos & Ted Talks do just as well.

Worth the read!

Simple to understand and straightforward. This will help anyone understand the struggles of ADD and how to overcome them. Both as an individual with ADD and as a support person in the life of someone with ADD. Strong recommendation!

Concise and informative

In light-weight easy to digest "nuggets", this book gave me insights on adult ADHD manifestations that I never knew or even imagined they existed.
Alongside addressing the emotional aspects of adult ADHD, the practical tips on dealing with symptoms came in very handy.
The storylines were very engaging, not just for the fact that I could relate a lot to them, but also for the way they were coded with uncomplicated, articulate, and intelligible wording. For someone with attention span challenges (like most ADHD-ers), the structure and delivery of this book offers a lot of accommodation.

Actionable changes- foundations for success

This is a great resource, building from basic physiological and behavioral foundations for dealing with adult ADD/ADHD. Time management, list making, diet and exercise etc.

If you are medicated, you might bristle at his opinions on medication not being the end-all-be-all in ADD/ADHD treatment. It's worth hearing how to address the underlying problems

Some commenters have said that they didn't like him embracing "fad diets" (which he doesn't). Basically he is advocating for overall physical health as an essential foundation for a healthy mind.

Loved it! Resonates Immediately.

Without being overly critical or applying serious listening, the "skimming" of this book by ear was a gulp of fresh air for me. I have long wondered what language to apply when attempting to explain my behavior. If you seem to work best when you should realistically be preparing for the next day or asleep, if you seem to always forget nearly everything only to remember it all a week or so later, if you are chronically late to everything...my friend, you might be an ADDneck!
