About this listen

From Wall Street Journal best-selling author Giana Darling comes an angst-filled romance about what happens after the happily-ever-after for a bad boy biker and the woman he corrupted....

I was settin’ up to live a good life, the kinda life I’d fought hard to deserve.

With a good woman - the best woman - at my side, a degree under my belt, and the whole world at my feet, I was livin’ the kinda happily ever after usually denied the rebellious and the criminal. I’d turned my back on that kinda life, thinkin’ I needed that clean, wholesome kinda happy.

Then the devil came dressed in the wings of an angel and took someone from me.

And I realized I was wrong.

There was no clean and wholesome for a man like me with poetry in his heart and outlaw in his blood. The life I’d been livin’ was only purgatory, holding me over until the time came for me to descend into Hell and pick up the tarnished crown that awaited me.

I was condemning my woman to a life of violence, blood, and heartache, but I had to hope she’d step up and finally be the rough-and-tumble queen to my fallen MC king.

After the Fall can be listened to as a stand-alone romance, but you first meet the couple in Lessons in Corruption (The Fallen Men, #1).

All the feels with a few twists and turns

I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. I haven’t
listened to a Jacob Morgan or Jason Clarke book that I haven’t liked. They really embraced the male characters and I thought Savannah Peachwood did a great job with the female character, too. There are some twists and turns here but so glad the story ended the way it did. I would recommend this book, for sure.

One Of The Most Beautiful Audible Ever.

After The Fall is probably one of the most heartwrenching books I've ever read. There were times I had to put it down and walk away when it first came out, that's how heartbroken I was for Cress and King, how much my heart tore in two for the pain Zeus was forced to suffer again.

The narrator's, Jacob Morgan, Savannah Peachwood, and Jason Clarke brought all that emotion rushing right back up to the surface again and I don't know anyone that could have done the job they did.

There's a section of the book, iykyk, that the tears are just sitting on the surface and Zeus's voice as Cress makes her announcement is just EVERYTHING. I don't know any other narrator that could have brought him, all his leather and smoke, to life in such a way that I had goosebumps.

Giana's choice of narrators, hearing her words all over again, there's a reason this book was one of my favorites of 2020, the audible has helped push it back in to my top 10 of 2021. Listening to this book is, in a strange way, like coming home. The love of the Fallen is all around and reminds me that our found families are often the most important.🖤🍏

All the feels

"We got arms enough to hold ya and hands enough to dry your face whenever you're done....You gotta let us love ya now, even when the thought'a love makes you want to wail in agony."

After book 3, I really needed this one. We return with more Cress and King, but now these two have been through a bit and have grown up, gone to school, opened businesses and looking to build on what they have. I loved it and the whole dang journey. The love, the tears, the deception. It all worked, culminating in one of my favorites of the series. Still have a couple to go, but King and Queenie have my heart.

I honestly wasn't expecting to love this book as much as I did. We had already gotten a King and Cress story, so what could Giana do to make me love them even more with this one? She is building something special with these Fallen Men and we definitely needed more from these two before continuing on with other the other men. King has grown up and his poetic and protective ways have only grown since we last experienced him. And Cress? She is becoming King's Queen in ways you wouldn't even expect. She is going to put you through some pain in this one, but man, is it worth it. That ending paired with the epilogue? Goodness. I can't wait to continue on.

Yes, I did love this story, but with all that said, I listened to this book and love these narrators. BUT... while I really liked that this book was told from 3 different POVs (Cress, King and Zeus) from some of the best narrators, the one thing that kind of bugs me is that the performers don't give the characters the slight Canadian accent. Not many people would catch it, but I live near BC and I know there is a little something different in their English. Not a big deal for me to hold against the telling of this story, just something I noticed. Will still listen to more of these audiobooks since they did a great job capturing the essence of the characters and what they were going through.

All the feels!

You can’t go wrong with Jacob Morgan narrating! This story was the best of the series if you ask me! I don’t want to give away anything but I will say this story had all the feels!

MUST READ

This book will definitely hold your interest and keep you riveted to your seat. The Garro men love their women and their families more than life itself. And the Garro women love their men and families even more. And seeing how they all interact with the club members as well as their enemies will definitely keep you on your toes. This book is a definite keeper.

“How could I do anythin’ else but die? For them.”

“What if there was a steeper price to pay, but only one had to pay it?
And shouldn’t the man to pay that toll be me?”

This is the 4th book in the Fallen Men series. It starts off showing us a different perspective of the events that take place during Good Gone Bad. We not only get a recap of what went down between the Fallen and the Berserkers, but this time we are seeing that King has a secret in with the rival club; his own agenda that he hasn’t let anyone in on…and his brilliant mind at work.

Once Zeus is arrested for a crime he did not commit, things heat up and King is forced to make a heart-wrenching decision that emotionally destroys his family, his woman, and this reader.

You’ll be moved not only by the emotional content, but also by the poetic writing that the author graces us with. I listened to the audiobook, but so many times found myself pausing it so that I could soak in the beautiful words with my eyes, raking over them and drinking them in. There was more poetry in this book than any previous in the series, as this is how King works through his turmoil and incredibly difficult decision.

Ugh. The author did us dirty in this book (still not over the losses suffered in Welcome to the Dark Side or Good Gone Bad), but she makes up for it in the epilogue.

Oohhhhh Jacob Morgan was PERFECT as King!! I was so excited to hear his voice! And Savannah Peachwood returning as Cressida made me so happy! When I first purchased the book, I was confused as to why there was a 3rd narrator (not that I would EVER complain about more Jason Clarke in my life…), but it makes sense once you get to a certain part in the story. Very well done!

This series really just keeps getting better and better. I was really nervous seeing that King and Queenie got a second story, nothing good can ever come of that tbh... And boy was I right. These two go through hello and back again and I wasn't sure how Giana was going to fix it.

This book really strengthened my love for Zeus too. The way he was there for his girls was just amazing and reminded me how much I truly love Daddy Zeus.

The end is heartbreaking, not gonna lie. My jaw dropped as we signed off and I wanted to scream WTF THAT'S IT? But it was also beautiful and poetic, just like King and Cress.

The audio was amazing. Three powerhouses in Jacob Morgan, Savannah Peachwood and Jason Clarke. I loved listening to them all so much.
