Publisher's summary

Reeling from her loss, Kacey Dawson is grieving and heartbroken, her addictive demons hauling her back into the alcohol-soaked abyss she worked so hard to crawl out of. Kacey teeters on the edge of oblivion and must fight her way through the pain, to build a new life for herself with her music, and somehow fulfill the promise she made to Jonah...one she feels is impossible to keep.

Theo Fletcher has a secret burning in his heart, one that he holds close, while he struggles to keep strong for his family, which is falling apart. His mother's health is fragile and his father's disapproval is breaking him down. Theo is afraid if he follows his heart, he'll fail, and not just himself but also his brother, who believed in him when no one else did.

Drawn together by their pain, Theo and Kacey slowly build a friendship, re-forge old ties, help each other to heal, and give one another the courage to reach for their dreams. Together, from the depths of grief and guilt, they learn to laugh again, to trust again, and quite possibly find something beautiful and lasting amid the shattered pieces of their broken hearts.

Impressed!!!...to say the least

I have to admit straight out that when I started this set of books, I was a little weary about the fact that stood out to me the most; this girl, whom I thoroughly related to throughout the first book, seemed to be having a new start with a new romance in the second book; however, that second romance looked to be with the first book's main character's brother. I thought there was no way this was going to be made to feel ok in 'All In', but wow did this author manage to do just that. She managed to not only make it ok, but wanted.

Jonah, the main character from the first book was amazing and one of my favorite characters in general. The author portrayed him as a selfless person and his part was huge in making the reader feel more comfortable with the premise of this book. He seemed to have the most mature and understanding attitude toward his own unfortunate fate and the impact it would have on the people he left behind.

Both of these books were an excellent read and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them. If you are on the fence about these books, I would say go for it and see for yourself. You may be as surprised as I was.

Loved it!

Cried, laughed, gushed, etc. Rollercoaster ride of emotions. Predictable, but still awesome. I loved it.

It was fine

SPOILERS AHEAD:

This story took me on a real rollercoaster. It started out with a story of a damsel in distress and the rough brother saving her. It was a very interesting to watch their friendship develop. However, I did struggle with the Theo and Kassie relationship overall. I think that may be a personal issue because I deeply loved Kassie and Jonah’s relationship. Theo loving her for so long, even while Jonah was alive somehow rubbed me the wrong way. But the way it grew organically was quite sweet. Then the meeting of Kassie and her mom at the hospital felt like a total cop out for her dads behavior. I was gonna give it only three stars but the epilogues gave me a star back. Theo and his dad in the tattoo shop and the Kassie having two little ones, bringing them to the Jonah instillation was so sweet.

Better than the first?

Okay I really loved full tilt, I did! However I think that this follow up to it really gripped my heart even more. I was really surprised with how Emma Scott was sure to keep it interesting. I wasn’t bored constantly recounting the first book or too slow of a build up to things. In my opinion it’s really well written and a great story. I loved both book brothers, and this story with Theo is just perfection. It’s the ending I needed!

So, so good!

I loved Theo and Casey’s love but it was NOTHING like Casey and Teddy. Their story is so gentle and real. It was a beautifully written love story. A love grow. Out of loss and tragedy. They found each other over and over and made a life together that worked for them. It was so good after book one, to have a really great ending.

Awesome. Best books in quite some time.

Finished both books in 3 days on a drive across the states. The scene at the Cajun restaurant/ Jazz Club definitely drew me in and remains w/ me. He didn't know how to dance, ha ha, just not how he wanted to dance with her showing every raw emotion that he felt for her. He was already under the microscope in front of all their family and friends.I LOVED both these books: Full Tilt and All In. Well written, great narrators.
