About this listen

"It's better to die free than to live a slave."

When the Mercenary Guild tried to bend the galaxy's deadliest assassins to their will, the Depik shocked the galaxy by choosing mass suicide to enslavement. Only those Depik not present on their home planet of Khatash survived to retreat to the shadows, to plan, to form alliances, to rebuild and look forward to the day when they could retake their home from the Veetanho invaders and exact revenge.

That day has finally come. And this time, the Depik do not stand alone.

Coming home to Khatash

Narrator Todd McClaren continues his excellence performance. The Hunters / Deepik... what's NOT to love? This is the 16th book in the series so if you've been following along, you KNOW. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was a 4 year "time shift" that my brain can't reconcile. But, Hunters & their Companions.... 😎

A great finale to this part of the Depik story

This tale will draw you in and keep you listening throughout as you connect with and then fully support these "cats" in their fight against the "rats". The real difference this time is they have some really great allies to assist.

Why are they space cats?

You have this vast galaxy at your fingertips that can be written about. The authors literally can write anything and everything about the main species in this book, the hunters. I’m OK with the bonding. I’m OK with the head scratches. But to have them as one of the Apex assassins in this series, and then whichever author wrote that they had a hard time opening a drawer inside of a refrigerator?

These two took a wonderful concept, and ruined it for me. Totally broke the immersion of this series and how I view the species now.

Whoever let this through and thought this added to the universe, I hope you aren’t allowed to make that many more decisions. I don’t know, maybe you had an off day or called in sick that day.

yay women

these hunter books are HORRIBLE.
There All about female power while destroying the actual story.
this one is mostly about a Lonely woman and her cat. Seriously who wants t read that crap.
