About this listen

Olivia Tyler loves helping foster children find their forever homes, but she's still waiting for her forever love. Ever since her ex-boyfriend humiliated her on Facebook, she hasn't been ready for a commitment. But on the night of the charity auction for her adoption agency, she gives in to temptation with a stranger who helps her out of a jam...and out of her bright-blue stilettos.

After the most mind-blowing romantic night of her life, everything about Max Right seems perfect: he's handsome, chivalrous, and he's about to launch an algorithm-based matchmaking app with an extraordinary success rate. But when Olivia finds out her mystery man is also someone else's fiancé, no matter how much they seem to click, this romance doesn't add up. For Olivia, unavailable means incompatible.

When a troubled teen comes to both of them for help, Olivia is willing to put their differences aside temporarily. But as the three spend time together, she discovers the truth about Max's heart, and it just may be the key to opening her own.

Cute Story!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I listened to this on my way to and from work and thought it was a fun story.

What did you like best about this story?

I did feel connected to the main character and loved following her throughout the story.

What does Dara Rosenberg bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She was great. I thought she connected really well to the story and made it really fun to listen to. Really good work.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened in probably about 6 car rides. It was a quick listen and a good time!

Ugh!

3.5 Stars for me but on the lower side.

The H was a complete doormat as he allowed his 'friend' to take responsibility for her getting pregnant from another person and sign a non-disclosure agreement stating that he would not tell anyone about it. He tells his best guy friend but not the woman he is falling in love with... really?

The h is willing to maintain a relationship for the benefit of a foster and realized that there was more to the story.

The villain was pure trash and never took responsibility for the damage she caused. The author even tried to justify why the villain was the way she was but the ending showed that if she had been honest from the beginning, all would have been fine.

If it weren't for the foster child in the story, this would have been a 2 star for me. The author has talent but missed the mark on the MCs and allowing the villain to walk away with no negative consequences.

Just no...

The book was pretty bad. Plot was asinine, to the point of being laughable. Dialogue was stilted, full of cliches, felt completely forced, unnatural. No character development. Characters are cliched, and ridiculous specially the villain. The Hero doesn't have any backbone and lets himself be manipulated over and over. In short the book was a wreck.
The narration definitely did not help at all. Dara Rosenberg's narration is grating with her over accentuation of "ing" ending words and the way her "s" comes out, to the point of being distracting and incredibly annoying. Sorry, I'll try to avoid books narrated by her in the future.

Awful mostly the narrators fault

Would you try another book from Gerri Russell and/or Dara Rosenberg?

The narrator was awful. She accentuates ing at the end of words and sounds too childish. There should have been a male narrator to even out Dara Rosenbergs miserable narration. This story is typical and nothing out of the ordinary. I was very disappointed. This was my first and last experience with the writer.

Would you ever listen to anything by Gerri Russell again?

no

How could the performance have been better?

A different female narrator and add a male narrator.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

not really

Any additional comments?

I was disappointed. Very rarely do I not finish a book and this audiobook was a real struggle.
