Award-winning regency romance author on the rise

Griffith, Duke of Riverton, likes order, logic, and control, and he naturally applies this rational approach to his search for a bride. He's certain Miss Frederica St. Claire is the perfect wife for him, but while Frederica is strangely elusive, he can't seem to stop running into her stunningly beautiful cousin, Miss Isabella Breckenridge.

Isabella should be enjoying her society debut, but with her family in difficult circumstances, her uncle will only help them if she'll use her beauty to assist him in his political aims. Already uncomfortable with this agreement, the more she comes to know Griffith, the more she wishes to be free of her unfortunate obligation. Will Griffith and Isabella be able to set aside their pride and face their fears in time to find their own happily-ever-after?

Great

I was not as fond of the second and third books in this series but they were pleasant enough. I really enjoyed the first and last books. The middle books helped to understand who the characters were throughout however and so I’m glad I read them.

Sweet Romance

Well written, good story line, no steamy adult scenes that make me feel uncomfortable and awful. Very safe for all ages. Georgette Hayer would be proud.

Characters you’ll love and a story you’ll miss when it’s done

I love this whole series and it’s awesome that Griffith finally gets his turn! It was neat to get a glimpse into historic politics in a way that impacted the story! I loved it! I hope to hear of this couple in future books in the series so we can see how they’re doing and what they’re up to!

Loved This Delightful story!

Oh my Goodnes! This story brought me to deep belly laughs several times at the utterly absurd tangles, misunderstandings and befuddlement that The Duke went through in his pursuit of Miss Sinclair and getting tangled up in an attraction for her cousin, Bella. The story brought a lot of chuckles in other parts and I loved how the Duke works through the tangled web and solves all the blocks to his winning the love of Bella. And I especially loved Bella’s final declaration of her love and acceptance of the Duke’s suit! I loved this final book in this series and glad that Griffith got his chance at love.,The author penned a delightful finale to this series.

Great narrator, clean romantic story

This book should really be the 4th book in the Hawthorne House series as it wraps up the story of the eldest brother, Griffin, the Duke.
His life is about order, logic and planning. And he makes his choice of a bride methodically and logically. There’s only a couple of problems. Lady Frederica is in love with someone else! And her cousin Isabella is making the Duke feel some very illogical feelings!!

Beautiful Ending to a Great Series

I’m so happy I found the writing of Kristi Ann Hunter. In the past 3 1/2 weeks since first coming across the Hawthorne Series, I have read, and listened to all five books that make up the series. How I love all of these characters and have such a bittersweet feeling saying goodbye to them, even with the hope that perhaps someday we will hear more from them if Miss Hunter chooses to go that route.

In An Inconvenient Beauty, I loved the relationship between Freddie and Bella, as well as the sweet, if somewhat complicated, romances between Griffith and Isabella and Freddie and Arthur.

I should also give kudos to the narrator of the audiobook version who was also wonderful!
