This is a dark story of love and war. The darkness makes sense and allows the light to grow slowly. Characters are beautifully written and performed. The relationship is sensual and explicit. The flow of the story is unique, it took some time to become accustomed to the rhythm. It is a beautiful tale that brings love and a redemption you will not see coming.

This was a thought provoking, epic story, beautifully descriptive…. clings to your soul long after the final word. The characters felt unique, the plot - while perfectly predictable- never felt plodding or dull.

The narration was beautiful, the mail narrator especially. This was one of my top 5 books of all time. It was beautifully written and well executed. I love the characters so much. They felt true and real. Their choices did not seem to made for dramatic effect but choices real people would make. I truly enjoyed this book.

The performance is AMAZING!!! I love the added background music, such a nice touch. The narrators did such a wonderful job and I liked their voiced and how much emotion they put into the story.

I LOVED this story!!! I mean I know I say that about all of Vlad's novels...but it is always so true.
It is a "story within a story". This bit tells of Harlan Krow, a character from a novelist from Kahany's Rebles of Gracewyck. I wasn't sure how Kahany could make Krow so loveable as he was a but of a chump in Rebel's Muse. But oh do admire Harlan Krow and his darkness and Alina for her light and the joining of these two forces.
"Truth is a weapon. That’s why so many hide it in the wrong hands. And I simply handed it to people." Harlan may be a "criminal" but he is such for all the right reasons and my heart broke for him and I hoped he could be happy as he so very much deserved. It was wonderful how sweet Alina could see the goodness in him and give him the love he needed.
I adore stories that have a bit of language and culture, I find those things very interesting (I used to want to be a linguist and say a few catch phrases in multiple languages but am not fluent in anything exotic). Shout out to Vlad for explaining some things in the acknowledgements, as I wanted to email him just to ask (mainly the name thing).

I have read many, many books throughout my life and this book is a very small part that have filled my whole entire heart and soul. After reading the last page I usually immediately begin another. It will be some time before my next novel. I just want to stay immersed in this one for however long I can ❤️
