About this listen

In a world where there are no rules, there is no greater hero than a 17-year-old girl.

Life at the fortified town of Sanctuary is calm. The people, with their fearless leader at the helm, have created a haven where they can live out their lives in peace and safety.

But it hasn’t always been this way. There were battles and losses along the way, and victory usually came at a price.

With the younger generation coming into their own, it’s time for Leah to pass on all she has learned over the years. Time to tell the stories of how the world became the way it is...starting with the highwaymen of Andorra.

The start of the new series!

If you have listened to the original series and were a fan like the rest of us, then you’ll love this continuation! Excited to see what’s in store for the next chronicles. It feels like a whole new series but you have come to know all these characters over there years of struggle and victory!

If you have not read/listened to the first 6 books or at least most of them, then you will miss out on the small references made about other characters from the other books and the connection/relationship with these characters will not be as strong. But yes, you can listen to this book first and jump back to the beginning of the series later. Narrator is awesome in this book!

Great addition to the series

Wow. What a smart way to keep the story going after the series ended. Great!

great story bad casting for voice

the story is excellent. I cried at the end of the last book sad it was over. this book is still the same strong story but the woman's voice dosent match the main character at all. Leah is a suvivor, a warrior, and a teen who lost her childhood and grew up rough and tough. Rc bray was much better. this narration voice sounds like a elite socialite. not a hardened warrior. and dosent match. her interpretation of Dan's voice was so bad It poped the bubble of illusion every time she tried. also her attempts at impersonations neil was famous for was cringworthy. the only person her voice fit was the leader of Andorra. bring back r.c bray maybe I'll just listen to books he does. how can anyone follow that?

Amazing

I actually listened to the 2 Leah books in the wrong order. I don't have the best vision, and I couldn't make out which was book 7 and which was book 8 on my screen. Even though it took a lot of suspense out of this one since I knew which characters were in the next book, this one was still awesome!
I absolutely love hearing the ongoing saga through the voice and eyes of Leah after having lived through Dan for so many books. DCF's writing style is engaging and the narrator does a superb job of taking over from RC Bray. I especially love how Leah is almost like Alice from the Resident Evil movies mixed with The Terminator. It seems like nothing is going to stop her.
I honestly can't wait to see what book 9 has to offer when it comes out!

Not the same without R.C.Bray

The narrator lost the quality of the read that it had with R.C.Bray. This was a great series in the past books but with the change of readers it has lost everything. The new reader tries to act her way through the story. She is not as good an actor as she wishes
she was.

great story and continuation of the story.

I have really enjoyed this audio book. Like most of my books, I like to listen for a while and then restart a few hours back as I do activities/chores. A good narrator like the one used here makes that a joy. I am glad they used a female narrator as I like when audio books use a narrator to match the main character. I laughed when I remembered the main characters were British after first thinking why did they use a British narrator? Now I am enjoying the story line even more, and I hope if one of the Spanish characters ever get a main book they use a person with an appropriate accent. Might be nice to hear the young boxers earlier story. Anyways great audio book highly recommended.

Finally, we get to hear from Leah's point of view!

Right away, you'll see that we have a new narrator. Don't walk away from the series yet. She's no RC Bray, but Kate Reading grew into each of the voices she portrayed and I was always able to differentiate the characters from each other. In short, she has a gift, she drew me into the story, just like RC.

Next, we are introduced to some new characters, Lucien is my favorite character. Who doesn't love hearing a male French accent, ooh, la, la! Then there's Raffi (spelling??) and Mateo who add some definite character to Sanctuary. Then our old standbys, Dan, Mitch and Neil (my personal favorite) are still on display in this book.

There's plenty of action but there's downtime, too. It's fun to listen to Leah finish the growing up process. I am so glad that I was one of the first to get to listen to Andorra, The Leah Chronicles. I pre-ordered it, then downloaded it on to my phone in the a.m. and I just finished the book. Worth every penny!

Narration is quite good despite

Other reviewer's displeasure. It helped to run it at 1.4x. Yes, accents swerved sometimes but not enough to matter. Story is quite straightforward and actually, at this point, even with a bunch of conflict, this one felt like a bit of a breather.
