Publisher's summary

How did I end up playing fake fiancée to a runaway criminal?

Well, I was supposed to get married today—but that’s a whole other story.

The part that matters is that I took the car and ran, still in my wedding dress.

I promptly crash said car into a bridge, and when I get out to check the damage....

I'm disoriented and fall right into the river below.

That should’ve been it for little old me.

Goodnight. Close the curtains. Roll the credits.

Drowned by my own wedding dress—how morbidly appropriate.

But then someone saves me.

Not just any someone, but the most gorgeous someone I’ve ever seen.

As it turns out, though, my someone isn’t just a random good Samaritan.

He’s a fugitive on the run.

And he wants me to be his alibi.

That’s how I wind up lying to the cops, posing as newlyweds—Mr. and Mrs. Someone, on our way to happily-ever-after.

That’s how I wind up spending the night in the woods with an escaped convict.

And then, in the morning….

He’s gone.

Or so I thought.

But 10 years later, there he is again: my husband for a night.

And although he doesn’t know it yet….

The father of my baby.

Arrogant Monster is book one of the Vlasov Bratva duet. The story continues in book two, Arrogant Mistake.

Such a weak, idiot woman

Why do authors make weak women in their stories. What happened to women with common sense and self awareness? This is the biggest turn off in a story - weak women who don't use their brains at all or they're afraid of their own shadows.
Really disappointed with this story. It had promise in the beginning and just flopped.

Fan of Mafia Stories

The story was ok, but I was not a fan of the narration. Honestly, the narrator made it difficult for me to get lost in the story.

Decent story horrible narration

My pet peeve is when two narrators pronounce character names different fly. The male narrator didn’t even pronounce his own character’s name right. The female narrator did a good job, but the male narrator was awful and sounded bored throughout. Then when he messed up Isla’s name…..where are the producers?? It’s a disservice to the author.

Mixed emotions

I like the slow burn. I like multiple storylines. I like the red herring.
I do not like the narrators enunciating the character names incorrectly. They obviously did not listen to each other’s recordings or communicate at all. I enjoyed the story enough to finish, but I was left feeling let down by the performance :/

So distracting I almost stopped.

The story is good but the narration made me want to stop listening. The biggest issue is the inconsistency in how the same names. And the gentleman who narrated might not have been the right choice because 1) he doesn’t sound like he could be a Don and 2) when he does Kinsley’s voice, it sounds whiny.

If those things don’t bother you, then you’ll enjoy this book.

Better

The last few Nicole Fox duets I’ve read have had really dumb FMCs; so, this duet was a refreshing change of pace. The FMC is naive but not stupid. The narrators are okay, but for a few characters, Leanne and Timothy give them different accents which was weird, and Leanne and Timothy pronounce some of the Russian words differently which was distracting. Last if self-harm or suicide are triggers for you, this is probably not the duet for you. Not only do those conditions play critical roles in this story, but the author also does not present a very nuanced understanding of them; so, some of the text is pretty dated and insensitive. Finally, this recording does not include the epilogue which was extremely frustrating.

Disappointed

I am a huge fan of Nicole Fox Mafia Books but I did not enjoy the narration or the series. I struggled to finish the series. I found Kingsley so whining. The female narration made it worse. Did not feel it was worth a credit
