Publisher's summary
The Avengers journey into deep space, where they unite the intergalactic races against the Builders - deadly aliens who seek to destroy the known galaxy. While the heroes are gone, Thanos sets his sights on Earth, sending the Black Order to launch the assault. It falls to the other heroes of Earth - the Inhumans, the Black Panther, Namor the Sub-Mariner, Doctor Strange, the X-Men, and more - to defend Attilan, Wakanda, Atlantis, and the rest of the planet. To defeat Thanos, the defending forces will need to deploy a new weapon - one that may be as deadly as the invading force.

Hey, hey, book lovers, take off those big thick glasses - this is Deadpool speaking! Sorry Marvel, somethin' happened to your copy guy. Anyway, this is my first prose novel, and they got this dude Stefan Petrucha to write it. He's good people. He's written novels and comics. But here's the thing: This book is about dogs. Dogs that turn into big nasty monsters. And then I gotta kill 'em. Thing is, I like killing people - the ones that deserve it, anyway - but I won't kill dogs. So that's what we call a character dilemma.

Story
It came from deep space. It sent the signal. Now our computers are killing us, helping the enemy drive us into extinction. But some of us refuse to die. We fight back. We learn. Jon Hawkins revives from cryogenic sleep in a drifting SLN battleship. The crew is dead and the main computer has been destroyed. Jon is a soldier, the start of the resistance, the one man with the will to beat the alien death machines that have terminated 1000 races. This is our hour as we face the ultimate evil, the galactic destroyer of life.

Too disjointed
It was okay. If you have run out of other books, give this one a try. There are multiple storylines and too many characters to follow. It was so choppy and superficial the book never really came to a climax.

A Bit Bloated & Pretentious, But With Great Scenes
Feels like it wants to be more important than it is. Great Character moments, though.

Terrific Audiobook
This is a very cool, interesting and very large scale adventure in the comics. The author does a great job painting a picture and the voice work is fantastic!

Avengers win first real battle.
The Avengers repell this attack. Very detailed event talking about all of the different heroes and their pacts. It nice to learn about the Builders and the bugs as well as the Atlantans and heroes in the Wakanda jungle.
