About this listen

Knowledge is power. That would be the motto of Lander University, had it not been snatched up and used to death by others long before the school was founded. For while Lander offers a full range of courses to nearly all students, it also offers a small number of specialty classes to a very select few.

Lander is home to the Hero Certification Program, a curriculum designed to develop student with superhuman capabilities, commonly known as Supers, into official Heroes. Five of this year’s freshmen are extra special. They have a secret aside from their abilities, one that they must guard from even their classmates. Because for every one person in the world with abilities they can control, there are three who lack such skill. These lesser super beings, Powereds as they are called, have always been treated as burdens and second class citizens. Though there has been ample research in the area, no one has ever succeeded in turning a Powered into a regular human, let alone a Super.

That is, until no....…

Loved it

Not a lot to say, it’s amazing. On to book 2. I can’t wait to see what is next.

Great

I have already listened to the series, but I decided to try the full cast audio. I was not disappointed. My only disappointment is that they don't have all 4 years recorded yet.

2nd time with this series

I really enjoyed this version, it was really well done and I loved hearing the talented voice actors act out the characters I came to know. The sound effects and music added to the story instead of taking away from it and were never overpowering. The characters came to life so much more for me this way and added alot of depth, They seem to have cut out some description or chapters but I don't think those would've added much to this type of adaptation. Super powereds dramatized has given me a new outlook on this kind of audiobook and I'm definitely going to be trying it more. It also gives me hope that people who don't traditionally like the idea of audiobooks may give these versions a try. Overall it was fantastic and I recommend giving it a try!

first half was worse than the other audiobook here

First half of the book had every male figure in authority sound as deep as Darth Vader and one with constant distortion like he was on an old speaker every scene no matter the context. In the second half it was fixed and people sounded like people and the vocal effects were fixed.

it's not the same

I love the audio book. I'm having a hard time with the dramatization. Some of the characters don't sound like I expected, particularly Vince. I really don't like the way Zero sounds in the lecture hall. I know it's supposed to be realistic but it just sounds off to me.

Now hooked on dramatised versions

Original version of book was good, but incredibly dry. Fit the story well, but there’s no comparison between the original and the dramatised version. In future, am going to find more of this format.

Somehow better than the original

This series was made for the Graphic Audio format. I own both versions, and while the first was good, full cast with music and effects really makes this story glow. The heart of a his series is the characters, and this audio style spotlights that. If you like superheroes, multilayered characters with heart, and young adults coming into their own m, this story is absolutely for you. I look forward to buying the rest of these books again in full cast. Hands down one of my favorite comfort reads.

Excellent

I listened to the original versions and this one. I’’ not sure which one I prefer more. However it was much easier to get lost in the story while listening to the adaption.

Really great adaptation of a great story.

I already really like the original so this was a nice way to reread the series. Two pieces of feedback though:
Lower the volume of the whistles. They're not that common but way too loud compared to the rest of the book when they come up.
Some of the casting seemed off. The cast were great at their jobs, etc., but Vince didn't seem to match how his character is usually described, as well as a similar discrepancy about Coach George. Honestly, the two VAs could have been swapped and sounded closer to my expectations based on how it was written.
