Publisher's summary

Pixie Saytar is the compassionate big sister we all need when navigating life with a new baby. Her honest portrayal of what it’s really like to become a mother will have you laughing, crying, and nodding along.

"A beautiful, modern, fresh, interesting and powerful book for any Mother" (NY Today)

Employing no taboos, no mom shaming, and no hard and fast rules, this book goes where no other baby book goes: to the heart of what it really means to make the transition from womanhood to motherhood (while elbow deep in diaper blow outs and smiling through unexpected visits from your in-laws). Celebrating variety and difference among mothers, steeped in a sense of camaraderie and togetherness, and packed with practical tips and encouragement, Baby’s First Year is as much about taking care of yourself as it is about taking care of your baby.

"No book comes close to this. An honest portrayal of the first year of being a mother, packed with more tips than all the other books I have read combined!" (Beth Riddens, entrepreneur)

This book will leave you uplifted, consoled, and entertained, while arming you with all the advice a new mother needs when she feels out of her depth.

"A stunning book and one we have no hesitation in recommending to all Mothers!" (Oz Mother Magazine)

Covering the entirety of your baby’s first year, this book focuses on the developmental milestones of both baby and mother. You will find tips on everything from postpartum recovery to surviving sleep deprivation, from soothing a fussy baby to introducing solids, and from navigating new relationships to managing household tasks now that you have zero time and even less energy.

"Simply put...this is the only book you will ever need as a new Mother. Buy it today. Buy a copy for your friends." (Nina Hynes, author and speaker)

Raising babies isn’t easy, but you aren’t alone.

Thankful!

Babys First Year on Audible is like a survival guide for sleep-deprived parents—think Bear Grylls meets baby onesies. The narrator deserves an Oscar for perfectly conveying the mix of joy, panic, and delirium that comes with raising a tiny human. The chapters on deciphering baby cries are hilariously accurate; I'm pretty sure my baby's cries now come with subtitles. The author's tips are as indispensable as coffee during the 3 a.m. shift, and the humor sprinkled throughout is the secret sauce that turns potential breakdowns into laugh-out-loud moments. If parenting had a soundtrack, this audiobook would be it—equal parts soothing lullaby and comedic relief. Highly recommend for anyone embarking on the rollercoaster ride of parenthood!

All of it good...second half incredible

Entire book was good but I have to say it was the second half when it really came alive for me. I found it easy to follow and it was a pleasure to listen to a new more modern spin on old parenting topics.

A Lifesaver for New Moms

I stumbled upon "Baby's First Year" on Audible when I was knee-deep in the chaotic and beautiful mess that is motherhood. A fellow mom-friend recommended it, assuring me that it was a game-changer. Boy, was she right!

This audiobook has become my go-to companion during those sleepless nights and endless diaper changes. What sets it apart from the myriad of parenting guides out there is its refreshingly realistic approach. It's not sugar-coated, and it doesn't make you feel like you're failing if things don't go according to the "perfect baby" script.

The narrator's voice is calming, almost like a trusted friend sharing her experiences and wisdom. The author dives deep into the nitty-gritty of the first year, addressing everything from sleepless nights to postpartum challenges. What I appreciate most is the acknowledgement that every baby is different – there's no one-size-fits-all solution. It's like having a supportive friend who doesn't judge your choices but offers practical advice based on real-life experiences.

The content is incredibly well-researched, blending expert advice with relatable anecdotes. The audiobook covers topics I didn't even realize I needed guidance on, making it an indispensable resource. From breastfeeding hurdles to introducing solids, "Baby's First Year" has been my virtual mentor, guiding me through the ups and downs of early parenthood.

What makes this guide stand out is its focus on modern parenting. It doesn't shy away from addressing the challenges unique to our tech-driven era, like navigating screen time and balancing work and family life. It's like having a parenting manual that's tailor-made for the 21st century.

Overall, "Baby's First Year" has been a lifesaver, offering practical advice without the overwhelming sense of judgment that often accompanies parenting guides. It's like having a virtual support system right in my ear, making me feel less alone in this wild journey called motherhood. If you're a new mom or know someone who is, do yourself a favor and give this audible gem a listen – it might just become your sanity-saving sidekick too.
