Mayim Bialik was the child star of the popular 1990s TV sitcom Blossom, but she definitely didn't follow the typical child-star trajectory. Instead, Mayim got her Ph.D. in neuroscience from UCLA, married her college sweetheart, and had two kids. Mayim then did what many new moms do - she read a lot of books, talked with other parents, and she soon started questioning a lot of the conventional wisdom she heard about the "right" way to raise a child. That's when she turned to attachment parenting.

One of the BEST self-care books out there!!!!
This book really dives into self-care for new moms and what is takes to go through the motherhood journey. The book is well organized and easy to read. What I really like about it is that there is an accompanying PDF which I can download anytime. A must have for all new moms!

Comforting message for overwhelmed new moms
This book gives new moms the tools they need to become confident parents. It encourages new mom’s to find balance by making self care a priority in order to be a great parent. The book infuses humor and a light hearted empathetic tone. It includes tips and real life anecdotes to manage stress and emotions and tells how to build a support system and find help when needed. Moms are encouraged to feel what they feel accepting the range of emotions that come with the process. The author uses her experience to empower moms to become great moms understanding that we should embrace the perfect imperfection of being a mom raising healthy, happy and safe kids. I enjoyed listening to the book and definitely recommend it to new moms.

Impressive Guide for Moms
The compassion communicated throughout this book about caring for yourself as a mom is outstanding. In addition to learning how to take care of themselves, new moms have a lot of other vital knowledge to learn, such as how to breastfeed, how to use a breast pump, how to stock up on nutritious food, how to create meal plans to help you eat healthily throughout the week and avoid eating fast food, how to exercise, and much more. If you are a first-time parent, you will find that the author's own journey of becoming a mother for the first time provides you with an authentic and experienced point of view that is very helpful. If you wander aimlessly or need a little nudge to remember to go easy on yourself, carrying this helpful tool with you at all times may be invaluable.

Candid reality check for the new Mama
This is a delightful book. I appreciate the author’s sense of humor and transparency with the somewhat delicate situations new moms can face. Having had mastitis three times in six weeks, I found a lot of value in the information shared about breastfeeding and the expectations we place on our breasts. I also suffered from postpartum depression with my first child; I didn’t know why I would cry every time the sun went down and wish I had had a guide like this. Journaling and meditation are underrated, but can be so beneficial for both mom and baby. Funny thing, like the author, I too, found myself “leaking “on a trampoline shortly after giving birth to my third child. I have to say, I wish more authors would be this raw and real when writing because it is definitely effective from a reader/ fellow mama standpoint.

Awesome resource
This book has been a great source of information and comfort. My neice has been suffering from post partum and has been struggling to manage her feeling and being a new mum.
This book includes invaluable advice and insight to find the balance this phase. I love the affirmations and the calming meditations that help to spoth the mind and body.
I will share this book with my neice and I know she will treasure it.
