About this listen
I first got exposed to the idea of beekeeping back in 2005 by my next door neighbors. They were doing it right in their backyard, and according to them, they were making a decent side income from it. As our third child was on the way, I was trying to figure out a way to make some extra income, and yes, I dove right into this business without knowing anything about bees.
But I knew if I set my mind up to do something I would do it till the end. Little did I know that this would literally change my whole life for many years to come.
Long story short, I started out from my backyard, and in two years, after creating a successful partnership with my neighbor, we opened up a bee farm and had a huge success. The business grew every year by 15 percent to 20 percent from the previous year. Last year we suddenly had an unexpected offer from a big-name honey producing company to sell our farm. After a month-long debate and discussion between family and partners, we started the negotiation process, and I am happy to report that we were able to sell our farm for a good profit. This book is not about my success but yours. I want you to listen to this book with an open mind and think about the possibility of having your own beekeeping business.
This book is the direct result of those 11 years’ experience in beekeeping and bee farming. I may not be the ultimate authority in this field, but what I share in this book is what I learned over those 11 years. This is pure and honest knowledge, maybe a bit raw at times.
I have learned a lot not only about the bees but about honey and what good they can do for our body and overall well-being. I wanted this book to be a complete guide for beekeeping and honey and how to get started in this business.
The demand for locally produced organic honey has been growing for the last two decades, and the supply is not keeping up with the growing demand. If you get started on this tomorrow, you will be late by a day, so take my advice, get started today!
Good luck!

Story
Have you ever desired, deep within your soul, to make a comfortable full-time living from a farming enterprise? Too often people dare not even vocalize this desire because it seems absurd. It's like thinking the unthinkable. After all, the farm population is dwindling. It takes too much capital to start. The pay is too low. The working conditions are dusty, smelly and noisy: Not the place to raise a family. This is all true, and more, for most farmers.

Story
Susan Knilans and Jacqueline Freeman are in love with bees. So in love that they observe their bees - their work, communication, seasonal activity, and more - for hours each day. And with observation came realization: When bees are allowed to live as they would in nature (with smaller hives, no chemicals, freedom to swarm, and little-to-no human interference), they will thrive. Accordingly, Knilans and Freeman have spent decades perfecting the revolutionary practice of preservation beekeeping, guided by the simple question, "What do the bees want?"

Mostly beginner beekeeping
It had lots of good information, but it wasn't until after chapter 20 that it really started talking about business, much of the content was really the basics of beekeeping.

A Little Disappointing
This book has a lot of great information about BeeKeeping. If you are just setting out on your new hobby you will find a lot of it useful. On the other hand, much of this information is rather redundant to the seasoned beekeeper. I got this book because I am interested in turning my hobby into a profession, but I did not find what I was looking for. In fact, business is not discussed until the last half hour of the book. Even then, its mostly Business 101 (Get a Website, File your Taxes, Market Your Product) and not necessarily "Specific to running a Commercial Apiary". My wife said it was like reading a book report written by somebody who only read the cliffs notes. How much money can you make running an apiary? What are the qualifications for calling the honey your bees make "Organic"? I still don't know, Mr. Fisher didn't really go into it.
The sound quality was good and the Narrator did a Great Job.
With all of that said, I am still glad I listened. You never know where you will find your next "AH HA" moment.

More honey recipes than beekeeping instruction
I seriously only listened to half of this, because I was so disappointed. Half of the book is nothing more than honey recipes that anyone can google.
