About this listen

They don't know who he really is. They never know where he'll show up. But the citizens of Gotham City know they have a protector. With an arsenal of amazing weaponry and a repertoire of incredible acrobatics, he is the legend they call Batman. In a toxic brew of big-city corruption, a bone-white, green-haired, eternally grinning clown is born. His name is the Joker.

Charting the origins of the Dark Knight and early battles between the Caped Crusader and the Clown Prince of Crime, Batman depicts the timeless, violent war between criminal and crimefighter, Batman vs. The Joker.

Roddy's brilliant performance revives a classic!

Roddy's brilliant performance revitalizes the classic Tim Burton film. A joy to listen to clocked at roughly 90 minutes. Fun and efficient. 5/5

Good Little Inbetween Book

A good short listen for in between longer books. I enjoyed the fast pace of this one, and how the narrator reminded me of an old noir radio show.

Memories of my old public library

I remember fondly days when I'd borrow this audio book from the public library in Evansville Indiana. I used to hang on every word during the performance of Roddy McDowell who was known for his roles in the Planet of the Apes franchise.

I enjoyed it. Good to listen to while driving. The story was short but narrator was awesome!

Ever Dance with the Devil in the pale moonlight?

A streamlined mediocre adaptation of Batman 89. The Joker is story’s primary focus and Batman is hardly in this. What saves this story is Roddy McDowall. He is a phenomenal actor and he give it his all. I would recommend this purely for his performance.

Batman

The performance done on this was different than in the movie, but that is one thing that made listening to it so fun. It didn't have all the scenes from the movie but it was still fun. And with Roddy narrating it was almost like The Mad Hatter from the animated series was there too.

abbreviated and oddly read

First off the story os highly edited. several parts are omitted . McDowall does a great job reading as the Joker but a terrible job reading as Batman. As Batman he talks too much and too high pitched but he gets the joker right.

Lost in Novelization?

I have bought this as a treat for someone who is okay with Batman but not Jack Nicholson. Now that he's out of my life, it's just here to have white noise. and deja vu!
