About this listen

Fall in love at Bayside, where sandy beaches, good friends, and true love come together in the sweet small towns of Cape Cod. Bayside Summers is a series of standalone steamy romance novels featuring alpha male heroes and sexy, empowered women. They're fun, flirty, flawed, deeply emotional, always passionate, and easy to relate to.

Gavin is about to find out that Harper really does exist-and she's going to knock his socks off! Find out for yourself in Bayside Romance!

When screenwriter Harper Garner got a shot at the big-time in LA, she celebrated her brave cross-country move with her first and only one-night stand - connecting so deeply with the sexy, brilliant man, she broke the number-one rule of one-night stands and left her phone number. Not hearing from him was only the first in a long line of hope-shattering, confidence-busting blows. Ten months later, Harper is done with men and done with LA. She pulls up her big-girl panties and heads home to Cape Cod to start over.

On the surface, interior designer Gavin Wheeler has it all: a successful business, a loving family, and a close-knit group of friends. But Gavin once endured a heartbreak so painful, he was sure he'd never feel anything for a woman again. A chance encounter at a music festival with a gorgeous, down-to-earth blonde proved him wrong, but when morning came, the woman who made him crave more was gone.

A serendipitous evening reunites Harper with her devastatingly delicious one-night stand, and the connection is just as intense as she remembered. Harper's life is too unsettled for a relationship, but Gavin is determined to help her find her way, especially if it leads straight to his heart. Moonlight conversations lead to steamy kisses, and as romance blooms, it stirs a love too real to deny. But when Gavin's past collides with the life they're building, it has the power to ruin everything.

One night of love

Gavin endured a heartbreak that had him thinking he would never be able to have feelings for a woman again. He meets a beautiful young woman at a music festival and they immediately clicked. They end up spending the night together and in the morning she was gone.
Harper moved to LA to try and make it as a screenwriter. When she meets Gavin at a music festival, there’s an immediate chemistry and she has her first one night stand. In the morning before she leaves, she decides to throw caution to the wind and leave her telephone number. When she doesn’t hear from him she feels foolish and regrets her decision. After a series of personal and professional disappointments, she decides to move back home.
Gavin and Harper run into each other again and the chemistry is still as off the charts as she remembers. Gavin wants to rekindle what they had but knows that he will need to take things slow with her since her life is in such a mess. He is so happy they’ve reunited that he tells her he wants them to get to know each other first. Gavin has something from his past that he knows he needs to tell her and hopes that it won’t change her feelings.
I love Melissa Foster’s books because they have just enough sweet and steam. The stories are always well written with relatable and likable characters.
Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan are two of my favorite narrators. They always do a great job bringing life the the story.

Romance at it's best!

When I am looking for a book that is low angst, high in romance and has a good steam factor, Melissa Foster is the author I look for. Gavin and Harper's story is swoon worthy and had me smiling all day as I listened. Harper is back home after a failed attempt at making it in LA. She is unhappy, had a couple of bad relationships, and her job didn't pan out as anticipated. But what she doesn't anticipate when getting back is bumping into her one night stand, Gavin. And their story picks up from there. It's impossible not to love this couple. Harper has dreams, but doesn't know exactly how she wants to have them play out. Gavin is a nurturer, and helps her not only with work, but family and to find her happy place. But things can't always be perfect! When a secret is revealed, will it pull them apart? It's warm and loving, has some really good background stories that can be featured in future releases and just makes us realize that things can always get better. I loved these two, couldn't help but fall in love with Gavin and love having the characters from previous books pop in.

Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan narrate Harper and Gavin with such clarity, that it's hard to believe they aren't real. Peachwood became Harper, and I could feel her frustration, and indecision, and later feel her change. When a narrator can do that, you know they are good! Morgan enhances the story with his ability to give Gavin that swoony feel, like we could just hug him! It's a great performance!

Totally loved this book

This was a totally awesome book with great narration. The romance between Harper and Gavin was so beautiful. Gavin is a boyfriend that every woman would love to have. The story of their friendship to much more was great and I enjoyed everything about this book. I also loved all the other characters. Narration was fantastic too. Highly recommend this book.

Great addition to this series

This was a great addition to this series with Harper and Gavin's story. Harper as a character from the previous books seemed almost as if she didn't exist with her busy schedule and not being able to connect with her friends at Bayside but when she made her appearance, she had a one night stand with new to Bayside character Gavin that did not end well. The pair have a lot of issues that they need to work out making this a set up for a great second chance romance read. Their story progressed well and had me hooked from the start in typical Melissa Foster fashion. I enjoyed the return of the characters from the previous books just so that i can catch up with them after their story but despite the other character returns, this book can also be read as a standalone book as well. In the audio version, I felt that both narrators did a great job bringing both Gavin and Harper's story to life making it an enjoyable listening experience. I enjoyed this book from the start and would recommend it to others.

A Wonderful Love Story!

Gavin and Harper spent one magical night together; a year later, their paths cross again. Gavin moved to the Cape to start a design business with Serena. When Harper's TV pilot is canceled, she moves back to the Cape from California. Even though Harper and Gavin are in love with each other, they decide to spend time together as friends while she figures out her career. The more time they spend together, the stronger their relationship builds. When they finally confess their love to one another, their love affair is off the charts. Will a forgotten secret derail Harper and Gavin's HEA.

Gavin is so swoon-worthy! A truly wonderful love story! Melissa doesn't disappoint once again. Great narration by Savannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan.

great book

*Edit to original review*
I just listened to the audiobook narrated bySavannah Peachwood and Jacob Morgan. I live listening to books. It makes my drive to and from work bearable.
Gavin and Harper met at a music festival They wound up having a one night stand. In the one night they hit it off. They had such a strong attraction. They never forget each other. By chance meeting months later they met up at a barnfire. They never knew they had mutual friends in common. Harper's friend spoke of her, however, Gavin always though her name was Parker. Harper returned a little damaged from California. Her show was cancelled and had bad relationships. She wasn't ready for a new relationship with Gavin. But oh boy did he win her over.
This was another amazing story by Melissa Foster. I love how she incorporates characters from her other series. You will not be disappointed. Definitely a must read. There's a HEA with no cliffhangers.

Sweet second chance romance

Okay, I have to start by giving a shout out to the narrators they are awesome and deserve tons of praise!

Harper is coming down from a blow to her career and her confidence. She finds herself seeking solace in friends when former fling Gavin shows up.

I truly love Gavin I think there is something so special about how much he lifts Harper up. He truly helps rebuild her confidence and brings her out of her funk.

You Can't Go Wrong With This Book

Harper Garner is having a tough time of things and needs to be around her friends. Gavin Wheeler has just received the shock of his life. Then he had me wondering what he was up to. He’s like a bulldozer. He’s going to plow right through someone’s defenses.

Our author does such a great job with her characters. I know I probably say that too much with Ms. Foster but I can’t help myself. She just has a way of making them seem as if they could be someone in your own circle of friends. You come to care about what they’re going through and want to make sure they’re going to be happy. You don’t want to see someone hurting without knowing that there’s someone there to care for them and help them when they need it.

Our narrators had me hanging on to every word. I enjoyed reading the book but once they started, I didn’t want anything to stop my listening pleasure. Ms. Peachwood brought Harper to life for me. It’s so much easier to picture the scenes when someone reads to you. Mr. Morgan had me thinking what Gavin would actually look like since I already know what he sounds like – especially how he sings. They are why I felt that 5 stars just wasn’t enough of a rating.

The places our author creates are places that you will want to visit. If you ever do visit those places, you will want to see if you can find her characters and see how they’re fairing since you last met them. As one character states “You’re real” and for some they come to feel that way – and our narrators make them seem so much more. And that includes both the happy and sad times – also when the man messes up.

Our author’s books are ones that cause you to relax – and that’s never a bad thing. It’s a great way to destress. Sometimes it’s a way to reflect on your own life and some of the choices you may or may not have made. Maybe it’s just telling someone you’re sorry and opening up and communicating which is a great start to being happy again. The sad part with any book is that all good things must come to an end. But like good friends you can visit with them at any time.
