Not as expected

I don’t know why they call this a psychological thriller because I did not find it to be that at all. It was a decent book but not great. The narrator sounded condescending at the end of every sentence and that drove me crazy. There were some words like reverie and my love that will haunt me because they were used so many times. I almost quit listening but was determined to finish it and I’m glad that it’s over.

A twisted tale

This story took a while to figure out. It feels as if we start in the middle of the story and work our way out. It is an interesting way to read a book, and it does require some focus. But once I had a handle on how it was written, I began to enjoy the characters. The twists and turns really keep you guessing. Amanda is such a strong character, that when Jacob loses his father, the characters shift focus. I really enjoyed the thought process this book had. It kept me on my toes.

Meghan Kelly delivers a great narration. She is able to keep the story flowing and the characters easy to follow. Meghan brings out the suspense in this book. I look forward to hearing more from her.

Before She’s Gone

What a ride! Although I was able to figure out what was going on a bit early, I really enjoyed listening to this book play out. Narration was fantastic and so real I felt like I was watching a movie instead of listening to a book. Such a great book for anyone who likes a bit of suspense in their books.

Thrilling till the edge of your seat

Book 1 in a thrilling mystery story. It involves Jacob the hero and Amanda the heroine.

Jacob and Amanda are happily married , there is only one thing that will complete them , having children. Amanda Knows it’s not the perfect time yet for children. Things get even worse when Jacobs father kills himself , that when the mystery starts , Jacob is acting weird , he even gets more weird when the police want to investigate. Amanda is wondering what is going on . Grab it and be twisted and twisted again . You will love it

Meghan Kelly was phenomenal, her voice , her tone for each character is right on. She will draw you right into the story .

Predictable and elementary

Very disappointed with this book. The lead female character was portrayed as unintelligent and predictable. Very frustrating and annoying. No depth in character and written like the author had to lead readers to a conclusion that was more than obvious. .

Exciting story line!

On the edge of my seat. That is how I was listening to this one. It's a great psychological thriller that had me wondering from the first chapter. Jacob and Amanda have been married for a while. Totally in love, they each hold secrets that could destroy their relationship. When Jacob's father dies, things come to a head, and we are on a goose chase to find out what caused him to commit suicide. And what we find out is nothing less than unpredictable. Cole Baxter weaves his tale with thrilling suspense and well developed characters. Jacob is extremely complex and at times difficult to figure out. Amanda is loyal to a fault, yet has her own reservations. And Jacob's mother is all out crazy. It's an exciting ride and one you will enjoy!

Meghan Kelly is fantastic as she performs this book. I usually hear her narrating romance, so it's wonderful to hear her versatility as she reads this one to me. High with her suspense, she builds up the story, keeping us on the edge. Each voice different for each character, she uses her inflections and nuances to keep the story at an exciting level. I enjoyed her story telling.

Great book!

I couldn’t put my phone down listening to this book. It’s a great story that shows compassion, understanding, love and much more while the family goes through a dark time.
The narrator did an amazing job and so spot on. I absolutely loved the British accent.

I can't believe

First of all I do not write reviews on books that I read, however I can not pass on this book.
I never got to the gist of the story line because the narrator was so down right awful. At first I thought
it was a joke. Please don't do this again, now I have to remember to never listen to him ever again.
