About this listen

Ilan has narrowly escaped her last encounter with the soldiers of the evil Praetor but many of her outlaw friends have not been so fortunate. When her closest companion is dragged off to Selbius for execution, Ilan has no choice but to defy the captain of the forest brigands and journey to the stronghold of her enemies.

Risking exposure, both as an outlaw and a possessor of illegal magic, Ilan has few allies in the strange city. Worse, she has attracted the attention of an unknown mage bent on her destruction. With the help of an unpredictable warrior priest, a cunning street thief, and her powerful bow, will Ilan evade the clutches of the Prateor and the attacks of the mysterious mage long enough to complete her mission and rescue her friend?

I found this short work lacking, it couldn't keep my attention from wandering.

Review Betrayal of Thieves

A shame, after purchasing Books 1, 2, 4, 5, & 6 in order to acquire Book 3 the reader is forced to purchase a repackaged version of Books 1 - 3. I would think customer loyalty would be have been considered. I therefore may choose to return all of my purchases rather than be forced into an unnecessary purchase. rjwood

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I love the story. C Greenwood has a way of writing that helps you get attached to the characters. Your heart breaks for them when they are dealt devastating blows. At the end of each book I am ready to jump right on to the next one. My only complaint is that these books are too short.

Betrayal is just the beginning!

I have been trying to read more fantasy books something that is unusual for me. I really enjoyed these but thought they were short and the series could have been compressed into one novel. Also a lot of repeat information i suppose it is so people who do not start at book one can catch up on what they missed. Fast reads

Enjoyed athough very short book

What did you like best about Betrayal of Thieves? What did you like least?

This book has an interesting set-up in terms of the world, magic system, and general plot. The problem lies in that this entire book could be done as a chapter or two in an actual book. The events are minor and really do not impress any sort of accomplishment or milestone within the MC. I know its a saga and each book will tell a part of the story but seriously, this is uneventful.

Would you be willing to try another one of Ashley Arnold’s performances?

I may try another performance just to continue this story line but if I see a performance outside of this saga then I will run away.

Any additional comments?

Can Ashly Arnold get some acting lessons? Its borderline monotone and remains at a constant pace regardless of action, and she can only do one voice.

Why is this a separate book?
