Publisher's summary

For most women, being newly engaged to the love of your life is a time of celebration. But Sunaya's happiness is overshadowed by loss. Her friends have not returned from their quest to bring back Noria, and though the Resistance has been beaten back, they are far from vanquished.

When the Minister sends Sunaya and Iannis to destroy an important Resistance stronghold, Sunaya is torn between the desire to help her friends and defend her country. But soon she finds that the two are not as unrelated as she imagined...and in order to accomplish both, she must put her trust in a man who has betrayed her.

Good edition

My heart goes out to Sunaya. Never quite feeling like she fits anywhere, but then again most heros and heroines never do. Plenty of action, battles, deception, and sexual tension to keep one's attention along with a surprise ending. The story is well developed and provides a lot of entertaining scenes. The narrator did an awesome job!

Go Sunaya

Sunaya is back with Iannis and other supporting characters for another adventure. The characters continue to grow and change. The action and plot remain fresh and entertaining. This is a great series and I look forward to the next book in this series.

Great series

Another fun and exciting edition to the series. I was afraid that since Sunaya and Iannis had gotten together in the last book that the series would devolve into all sex all the time. But that didn't happen. The plot and the overall story arc stayed tight and the sex scenes were tasteful and fit into the flow of the story.

meh. story is ok, but..

Meh. The story is ok, entertaining enough, but I find the main character pretty annoying and very flat. she doesnt have a whole lot of depth and the some of the decisions she makes don't make sense. Her relationship with the high mage doesn't make any sense and seems only to serve the purpose of propelling the story. And don't even get me started on the performance! The performer speaks so annoyingly slow that I had to speed up the book just to make it through. Ever book she does is like this and it makes it difficult for me to appreciate the story when I just keep rolling my eyes at the choices the performer makes.
