One of the hallmark's of Brian Tracy's philosophy is that you are 100% responsible for the results in your life. While Brian Tracy has discussed this philosophy since the 1980's, it is increasingly out of place in our current cultural moment. Today there are numerous voices telling you that any of your struggles or challenges are due to other people or societal conditions that are beyond your control. But, as you'll hear in this life-changing book, the philosophy of complaint and "blaming others" is ultimately a dead-end path that leads to despair.

On September 11, 2018, Navy SEAL Chief Edward Gallagher - a highly-decorated combat veteran with nine deployments to war zones in Africa, Afghanistan, and Iraq - was arrested for war crimes at the TBI medical clinic where he was receiving treatment. His incarceration was the culmination of a year-long whisper campaign started by a group of disgruntled members of his SEAL platoon. While heavily covered in the media, the full story of how a war hero was railroaded and nearly sent to prison for life for crimes he didn't commit has never been told.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

I have discovered a group of women who refuse to be exploited, are immune to manipulation, and who never settle in the name of love. These ladies know what they want and take what they want by beating men at their own game. Utilizing the secrets exposed in this book, these women gain power, money, and status. Men call them gold diggers, women call them hos, but they call themselves winners. This is the book that society doesn't want you to listen to….

Fear Is Just a Word begins on an international bridge between Mexico and the United States, as fifty-six-year-old Miriam Rodríguez stalks one of the men she believes was involved in the murder of her daughter Karen. He is her target number eleven, a member of the drug cartel that has terrorized and controlled what was once Miriam’s quiet hometown of San Fernando, Mexico, almost one hundred miles from the U.S. border. Having dyed her hair red as a disguise, Miriam watches, waits, and then orchestrates the arrest of this man, exacting her own version of justice.

As a young girl, Hannah Stowe was raised at the tide’s edge on the Pembrokeshire coast of Wales, falling asleep to the sweep of the lighthouse beam. Now in her midtwenties, working as a marine biologist and sailor, Stowe draws on her professional experiences sailing tens of thousands of miles in the North Sea, North Atlantic, Mediterranean, Celtic Sea, and the Caribbean to explore the human relationship with wild waters. Why is it, she asks, that she and so many others have been drawn to life at sea—and what might the water around us be able to teach us?

The period from 1933 to 1943 was one of the darkest and most chaotic in human history, as the Second World War unfolded with unthinkable cruelty. It was also a crucial decade in the dramatic, intersecting lives of some of history’s greatest philosophers. There were four women, in particular, whose parallel ideas would come to dominate the twentieth century—at once in necessary dialogue and in striking contrast with one another.

William Feaver's daily calls from 1973 until Freud died in 2011, as well as interviews with family and friends, were crucial sources for this book. When the New Yorker writer Rebecca Mead relocated to her birth city, London, with her family in the summer of 2018, she was both fleeing the political situation in America and seeking to expose her son to a wider world. With a keen sense of what she’d given up as she left New York, her home of thirty years, she tried to knit herself into the fabric of a changed London. The move raised poignant questions about place: What does it mean to leave the place you have adopted as home and country? And what is the value and cost of uprooting yourself?

Exactly what the target audience needs to hear.
Sean knocked it out of the park in this one, perfect sequel to Rising Above. After this review I will be rereading this. Better Broken absolutely nails the interstruggles the "broken" contemplate in their minds. The contents spoke to me as if I was having a conversation with Sean, as if he was trying to coach me through a present obstacle in life. If you gained anything from his previous work, this book will compound onto it. Well done Buck.

This audio book was so much more helpful than I expected. Sean has a great way of relating to the listener by using anecdotes that are easily relatable. Not only does he provide theoretical examples, but also practical examples through his life experiences. If you are looking for a self-help book that is inspiring, motivating but also gives you a blue print upon which to build your own success, this is the book for you.

A universal message.
I've followed Buck for a few years now while aspiring to enter into a career in the Military. Initially, I only followed him for basic "how to" information. Once he started to share his personal experiences I realized I related to his story a lot. Buck wasn't some D1 monster athlete that came from good parents then ventured onto becoming a Green Beret. He was the opposite. A broken person, filled with fear. He isn't afraid to admit he is scared. He just discovered that there is power in being scared, and doing it anyway. This is a message that anyone can learn from.

Excellent message! Hidden Takeaways
I thought Sean Rogers did a good job at delivering his points across for those people who he wants to hear this story. I hope they pick up this book. There were some very good tips. People who have had a difficult time in their lives tend to work harder to get somewhere and to make a success of their lives. I am not sure it is all about poverty...but those who struggle for a normal family life, with a mother and a father who truly love you and uphold you, guide you to make you the best You. It is true without that, life is so much harder, and add the poverty to that...it makes life almost untenable.
I will say as far as the continual points being made with the pre-recorded voiced for emphasis, took away from the storyline and the points themselves, especially because the sound quality and the quickness of the reading was uneven. I understand the why...however, less words with clarity would have delivered the same effect.
