What makes this book different from other motivational books is that it provides practical information and tips so you can apply the information in your everyday life. Mills not only urges you to become unstoppable but demonstrates how to do it. In each chapter, he describes his own experiences and that of other people who faced adversities. These stories are not only motivational, but more importantly are coupled with frameworks and strategies that can be implemented in the real world to help towards achieving a goal right away.
Perhaps one of the greatest features of “Unstoppable Mindset’ is that Mills does not merely describe his techniques but accompanies them with easily memorable acronyms. These acronyms make it simple to remember, engage and implement his techniques in everyday life, so the concepts are not put to rest once you finish reading the book. When making decisions on difficult issues I already find myself asking if my choice will be “helpful or hurtful” to my end goal, many times a day (just one of the many techniques he teaches).
In contrast with many self-help books that can be divided into motivation books on one hand and how-to books on the other, “Unstoppable Mindset” is a balance of both. Whether it be focusing on one’s career, physical fitness, or overcoming life issues, this book equips the reader with a roadmap on how to achieve one’s goals.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the forward. written by a childhood friend of Aldens and CEO of a major law firm. The forward provides a bit of background on Alden and the benefits the CEO has seen from working closely and applying the techniques in the book. Overall, I highly recommend the book for anybody who is aiming for success in any aspect of his or her life. This is a very inspirational book because Alden Mills has not only shared interesting stories but also useful tips.
