About this listen

"A sexy NHL player, a sassy heroine, and a heartfelt romance that kept me engaged from beginning to end!" (NYT bestseller Mia Sheridan)

Hockey is my life. And it's a great one. There's an endless line of women, and I get to hang with my best friend Oli. Everything is perfect until she shows up. Oli's twin sister, Flynn...hates my guts. I don't blame her. I'm part of one of the worst nights of her life.

Now she's next door and seeing her every day is killing me slowly. I wonder if we can ever get back to being friends. The way she looks at me sometimes, well, let's just say my hockey stick isn't the only thing that's feeling hard these days.

But if she finds out the secrets I'm keeping, forgiveness will be the last thing on her mind.

Enjoyed this second chance romance. I'm excited for the next book. Loved having the option to listen or read.

I really enjoyed this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I really enjoyed Flynn and Myles. They were best friends growing up with Flynn's twin brother thrown into the mix as well. Flynn had feelings and a major crush on Myles as well and so did Myles. He didn't act on it until shortly before a tragic accident killed both of Flynn's parents and it ended up driving a wedge between them. They haven't seen each other for years though Myles and Oli (Flynn's twin) are still best friends and are now playing on the same pro hockey team in Chicago. Flynn has moved there as well to be closer to her brother again. She has just discovered that her boyfriend, now ex, was cheating on her when she caught him at work. She goes to stay at her brother's place, which of course is right next door to Myles. These two have a lot of unresolved feelings that they need to work through and deal with. They both love each other but have some things standing in their way that they need to get out into the open and work through. Flynn has harbored resentment towards Myles as he was the one driving the vehicle, though it wasn't his fault at all. There are some secrets as well for some twists in the story. I loved watching Oli root for both his best friend and his sister to get together and work things out, though at first he tries to be subtle about it and make it about becoming friends again. This story is emotional as well as they have to work through the trauma from the past and find their way forward. This story was cute and I loved the best friends sibling, childhood crushes/sweethearts, second chance this one had going on as well as a dash of enemies to lovers. It was really well done and I really enjoyed the characters.
The narrators did a great job with the story and bringing it to life.

Loved this one! Characters were great!

The female narrator sounded and read like a teenager, not the adult attorney she was supposed to be. The male narrator hardly even talks. FMC also totally overreacts when she finds out the “big secret”. Overall, seemed like the drama that would be perceived as more significant by YA’s. There is far better writing and books out there.

Manufactured Drama

I had to keep reminding myself that everyone is a grown adult. The actions, conversations, and narrators make everyone seem like young teens. Book is PG until about 2/3 of the way in. So disappointed by the ‘secret’ they spent the entire book building up.

Secrets, lies, and hurt feelings interferes with Flynn and Myles friendship and potential budding relationship. Can either of them move forward? Will they forgive? I loved their growth, the flow of the story, and the beautiful friendship between all the character involved. This was a cute, sweet, and heartfelt journey to go on. Tinkerbell and Peter Pan have never been more adorable. I enjoyed this story.
Narration was great.

The story may have been good but I’ll never know. The narrator killed it for me.

Male narration killed the story

The narration and writing were just terrible. I couldn’t get past the first 20 mins. Sorry.
