About this listen

The Hunt

It’s hunting season for best friends Shay and Vito. This year, with a bad economy and Shay out of work, it’s more important than ever to bag a deer so they can feed their families. Tucking their truck in their secret spot outside a state park in the Catskills, they settle down, waiting for a deer to come to them.

Discovery

What they get is a giant creature that outruns a speeding deer and savages it with its bare hands and jagged teeth. Someone hidden in the woods shoots it with a tranquilizer dart. Shay knows what the beast at their feet is, and how its discovery can change their lives forever. They load it into their truck and head home for....

The Bronx

The drugged Bigfoot awakens in a cramped shed in Shay’s backyard. Confused, terrified, angry, it breaks loose in the middle of the night, seeking refuge in a nearby cemetery. When the bagpipes of a morning funeral drive it into a killing rage, the carnage has just begun.

Rampage

From playgrounds to golf courses, apartment buildings to subway cars, the bigfoot is on the move - and it’s not happy. Can Shay and Vito find and recapture the beast before it burns the Bronx to the ground?

A great Horror-comedy

Two hunters are finally going to catch a deer. They catch something else instead. Horror and comedy ensue.

The main characters are Bigfoot and the hapless hunters. Then there are dozens of side characters, and the game is to figure out if the character will have a bad end or not.

The voice actor is incredible. I'll be looking for more by him. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Silly Premise

I really didn't think that I would like this, but I was pleasantly surprised. The storyline sounded silly, and in fact turned out to be silly, but the story was told well and Steve Connor did do a pretty good job narrating. I received this audiobook for free in the author/narrators promotion and I am giving my voluntary review.

Just couldn’t finish

I tried to get through this audio book as I normally really like Hunter Shea’s writing.

This story just was not as well written as others.

The main reason I couldn’t finish was the narration.

The accents were not believable and garbled. The humor was flat and the dialogue wasn’t understandable at times.

Overall I should have just tried taking the book.

I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator and/or publisher.

Humorous and Heartbreaking

When I first started listen to this book I found it funny and engaging but as the last chapters started I couldn't finish it. I am an animal lover and this book started to make me hate the main character where I wished him death. Steve Connor did an excellent job bringing the characters to life with his vocals. I can honestly say it started off good but the laste few chapters made me hate the book. I am voluntarily leaving this review.

Be Careful What You Bring Home

A pair of hunter buddies bring a tranquilized big foot home. They tried to hide the big foot but it escaped. Seeing a big foot in the Bronx was a shock for most of the residents. The beast did make one friend. A young girl named Destiny befriended him & even sort of helped him with his personal hygiene.
Great story.
