About this listen

His first, last and only true love has always been rugby. Until now. She's damaged. He's determined. Fate brought them together. Love binds them.

Johnny Kavanagh has everything going for him. On the rugby pitch, he's a force to be reckoned with. Primed for stardom, he's heading straight for the top. Nothing can possibly get in his way, right? Not even the shy new girl at Tommen College. The one with the sad eyes and hidden bruises. The one that distracts him like no one ever has.

Plagued with a hidden injury and desperate to impress the scouts watching his every move, Johnny has been placed on a pedestal so high, he has no room to make mistakes. Johnny needs to keep his head in the game. He needs to stay focused and cannot afford to let distractions get in the way of the big picture. But what happens when a lonely girl with sad eyes becomes the only picture?

Two teenagers from opposite sides of the tracks collide in the second audio instalment of Binding 13. Based in Ireland, the Boys of Tommen series is bound to captivate and lure you into the world of rugby, love and teenage heartbreak.

Wow. All I can say is wow. I have been listening to this book over the last few days whenever I could squeeze it in. Hooks you in and takes you through a rollercoaster of emotions! So good!

What a cliffhanger

Where the fuck is the Irish police? Is this town so small that they don’t have police because wtf! I’m exhausted for Shannon and her brothers. Her parents better be locked up or nonexistent in the next book. I can’t deal. I get so upset reading about the constant violence, it’s sick. Also, the fact that this neighbor can report seeing Shannon getting dropped off by a boy but doesn’t hear the bloodcurdling screams is mind boggling.

(Takes a deep deep breath) The story is very realistic and depicts images of what some people experience in real life. I hope there’s a hotline number in the book for those experiencing any form of abuse.

Like Part One, this one also dragged for me. The story was still interesting, but it felt like it took forever to get to the good stuff. The characters had some growth, but it wasn’t enough to keep me fully invested. The romance was still building, but it just felt like it was moving at a really slow pace, which made it hard to stay hooked. The narrator did a great job, but even that couldn’t pick up the slack when the story seemed to stall at times. It’s definitely not a bad book, but I’m just not as excited to continue as I thought I’d be.

I wanted to love this one

Look. I knew this was a booktok favorite, but I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I also didn’t know that not only would I go to the bookstore for Keeping 13 the moment I finished this one (I read along with the audio), but also end up buying the whole series before the week was up. Shannon, Joey and the Lynch kids are going through hell, and the ending of the book? I couldn’t leave it at that. I needed to know what happened. I needed more of Johnny and Shannon. I needed more of Johnny and Gibsie. I can tell these books are going to rip my heart to shreds and hopefully put it back together again. As much as I love any time Johnny and Shannon are on the page together, I must admit that Johnny and Gibsie’s interactions might be my favorite part

Soo good! As this is part two of the first book for Johnny and Shannon it picks up right where the last one left off and we finally get more of Johnny and Shannon bridging that line into more. They are flirting closer at the edge of more and getting closer as they spend more time together and building their friendship. Shannon still has her walls up especially regarding who is hurting her but other walls are coming down with Johnny and she is sharing other pieces of herself that she doesn't share with anyone else. I loved watching their dynamic grow and change throughout this story. I loved Johnny and his protective instincts and how he interacted with Shannon without pushing her too far. This story is well done and absolutely gets your emotions engaged and tugs on your heartstrings without. As things start coming to a head and secrets coming out the bond they share is undeniable and something they are both coming to rely on. This book had plenty that kept me engaged without and has me addicted to this world and these characters. It does end on a cliffhanger and I absolutely need the next one asap to get more of Johnny and Shannon!
The narrators did a phenomenal job with this story and bringing the characters and story to life. They really bring out the emotion the characters are feeling in their voice and the action on the page and acting out what's happening to really give the depth to listening to it. They brought it to life and a fantastic job with the accents as well.

Absolutely loved it! Phenomenal story!

Wow! My friend was not lying when she said I had to read these books. I don’t even know where to begin. First off, I love Johnny and Shannon! I love how protective Johnny is over Shannon! It broke my heart to hear how Shannon’s home life was! I love Shannon’s brother Joey! Gibsie is the best, best friend to Johnny! I love how supportive he is to him and I love the humor he added to this book! I love the nickname he gave to “little Shannon”. This book was great and I can’t wait to read the next one!

This was so well written and the narrations were so good, I giggled, kicked my feet, laughed my ass off and sobbed my eyes out. I haven’t had this much of an emotional connection to characters before and now I understand why people love these books so much 😭

So worth the hype!!!
