About this listen

Jane Ashford brings you straight to the English countryside in her newest Regency romance. Perfect for fans of Mary Balogh, Ella Quinn, and Bridgerton, this historical romance features:

• A young woman trying to do the right thing

• An earl's son whose clumsiness is their downfall

• A scandal that turns the haute ton upside down

• The undeniable spark that transforms a blunder into a tender connection

Sarah Moran's attempt to save Kenver Pendrennon—the heir of an earl—as he slips off the Cornwall cliffs sends them both into each other's arms and into the sea. Now, marriage may be the only option to keep a scandal at bay. But what started as a terrible mistake may be exactly what both of them needs...

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I feel it correctly represented the historical aspect of the social issues of the aristocratic peerage of the time. Plus it threw in some intriguing relationships between family members. Narrative is excellent!!

ENJOYABLE!

I really liked this title in the series. The conflict is not presented between the couple but instead it is handed out in heavy measure by the heir to the earldom’s wicked, bullying and rigid mother. The constant sweetness and adoring bond between a couple, absent of manipulation, struggle and anxiety, is a nice change. I would have liked to see the old biddy paid back for all her wretchedness. She doesn’t quite get what should be coming to her, but I guess that is the way good natured people would deal with old bats. Rosalyn Landor does a terrific job voicing all the characters. She has a lovely soothing voice and I was surprised she did such a convincing job with the bitter witch.

Wonderful
