Publisher's summary

An army of the living and an army of the dead converge on the Crossroads, and the fate of two worlds hangs in the balance.

Sean Williams can see the ghosts of the dead rising in Maple Bend. They can see him, too - including the vengeful spirit of a serial murderer hunting him. To save Maple Bend from the plans of the Man in the White Suit, Sean must put the dead to rest - but doing so may cost him the girl who haunts his dreams.

Beyond the Crossroads, a powerful army approaches, led by the evil daughter of the Man in the White Suit. Jenny Morgan, an inexperienced witch self-exiled to this magical parallel version of West Virginia, stands with the defenders to halt a vastly superior force. But is she truly part of the last line of defense against the darkness, or is she the key to its victory?

Get ready for a fight of a lifetime

Remember where we left the friends of Maple Bend at the end of Blood Creek Beast?
We wanted to find out if the friends will prevail and save two worlds if Jenny and Annabelle are in time to save their friends, and what happened to Sean?
In Blood Creek Phantom, the third book in the series, we find out what Sean has been up to. He is still looking for Debbie, the ghost that brought him to Maple Bend. When Chrissy King asks for help to keep safe from Avery, the ghostly serial killer, he makes a mistake that sets him up for much trouble. He ends up meeting Hattie’s great-great, maybe one more great-grandma kills another giant and resolves some issues he has had with his family, and unintentionally literally wakes the dead.
Jenny has learnt a lot from Annie but still has much more to master when she ends up in the war between Lila and the Wardens. She finds Jack and Jessabelle and joins them in fighting to hold the gateway from Lila and her Coven allies.
When two armies converge on the gateway, Jenny, Jack, Jessabelle and their friends from “round the bend” are chasing to hold the gateway on their side closed, while Sean and Debbie are rushing to keep the gateway on the Maple Bend side out of reach from the coven.
I love these books. They are such a refreshing paranormal fairytale mashup that I get lost in them and feel as if I am there with the friends and their struggles. Now to wait in suspense for the Devil to come…

Baskerville Book Reviews

This review will contain very minor spoilers. This is not the norm for my reviews, I just really hate having to be vague about things.

I went into this book thinking I wouldn’t get to see the character from book 2 again. Book two focused on a couple of characters and their stories, so when book 3 started, I was resigned to not getting to continue them. Thankfully that wasn’t the case. While they’re relegated to the side, for the most part, they haven’t been abandoned entirely like the characters were in book 2.

It does introduce more characters like book 2, it also means some characters have been pushed even further to the side. I found some of the twists predictable. (The characters in this series are way too trusting.) Others though, damn, I was not prepared for. Even 3 books in, I’m just as excited for book 4 as I was to read book 2.

Unfortunately for me, I went into book 2 thinking there were only 3 books. Goodreads didn’t list book 4, so I was ready to finish this series off. I can not wait for book 4, I’m completely hooked on this series and these characters. They feel like genuine people. They’re interesting and compelling, their personalities feel distinct and fleshed out. Too many characters feel like cardboard cutouts that are only used when the plot needs them. It’s refreshing to spend time with this group of people who have wants and desires, hopes and dreams that extend past whatever the plot currently demands of them.

I’m sick of listening to this narrator mispronounce words. “Farmiliar” isn’t a word. There’s only 1 r in familiar. “O” isn’t a number. “Perscription” isn’t a word either. It’s prescription. Otherwise, the voices and overall reading were good. There were a couple instances of repeated dialogue. I wasn’t 100% sure the first time I heard it, but the second time was absolutely an error.

Awesome story

The only reason for the five star rating is that I couldn't go any higher. The thing that I really liked about this story was the ending. It's not a happy ever after ending nor is it a doomsday.I also liked the fact the the characters could not only get past their differences but also overcome their hatred. This is an awesome story.I have found an author and a narrator that will go on my favorites list.

Keeps getting better..

Another slam dunk storyline. The characters continue to develop in ways that make sense and it just gets more and more intense.. it's a fantastic rollercoaster. It is both unpredictable and even uncomfortable at times, but always interesting and engaging. I'm both excited and nervous about what book 4 will have in it..

A great series

What a great series. So many great characters. Some of them you will love & some you will dislike. An epic battle of good & evil. A group of friends work together to prevent evil from coming round the bend into Maple Bend. Will Jenny succeed in defeating her foe? A great series with many magical beings & creatures. I loved this series and will be checking out more from this author.

Another Great Book in this Series!

This is where the author tries up a lot of loose ends, but the Story still will continue in the next Book. This is a good author and Narrator and makes for a Great Story.
