A heart-pounding standalone zombie-horror from best seller RR Haywood

Henrietta Swallow may be a stunning model, but she has ambitions to be a film director. At a film premiere she tries engaging a producer about a new project...before everything goes terribly wrong.

Soon Swallow finds herself on the run amidst the full horror of the Undead. Along with a small band of survivors, and one miserable producer, Swallow must do everything just to stay alive on the blood-soaked streets.

Great zombie book - great author

I am hooked on The Undead series by RR Haywood. Love his style and his characters. This book is related to the Undead Series, but can be read as a stand alone book also. In Blood at the Premier there is a strong female lead named Henrietta Swallow who is in great physical condition and is a fierce fighter. She is a beautiful television actress and is at a movie Premier when the zombies attack. She leads a small group of people through the dangers and is the only strong fighter among all of them, including the men. They face many dangerous and life threatening situations. One of her group, a producer is a major jerk and coward but he belittle Henrietta constantly. I wanted him to get zapped, bitten, shot, or anything else to shut him up. Another person in the group is lovable Benjie, the male lead of a band called Benjie and the Boys. Benjie is my favorite male character. He is so sweet and innocent. They pick up Brian, a van driver who crashes his van running from the zombies. Then they pick up a wealthy spoiled teenage girl named Rose. In downtown London Henrietta runs into characters from the Undead series. You will immediately recognize them if you have read or listened to The Undead. If you haven't been exposed to The Undead, I highly recommend that you start with book one and go forward. Howie, Dave and the gang are fantastic characters and Haywood is an extremely talented storyteller. His dialog is witty and fast paced in that series as well as in Blood at the Premier. Be prepared however to lose some characters, even ones that you like.

I hope Haywood writes more about Henrietta in future books. The Haywood Zombie world is my favorite and I love to dwell there with the likable characters, safe behind my ear buds. The narrator was very good. She had good voices for the characters and kept the tension high with the tone of her voice. If Haywood does continue with the Henrietta stories, I hope he keeps Rachael Hine as the narrator.

R R Haywood Delivers Again!

Good story overall. A bit too much time & detail spent on the turd in the sink but, Haywood does that sometimes. Overall a good Undead story.

I hope they go more into it because I want to see what big Chris was like and how is camp was before Howie got to it. I wonder what happened to them?

Love Haywood, but this is painful

The strength of Haywood’s writing is in the characters. Unfortunately these characters are just not likeable. I don’t care what happens to them and I don’t think I’ll be able to get through it. It’s too bad. I was excited to have something to hold me over while I wait for the next installment of Undead to come out.

Haywood, please don’t forget your strengths. Your characters are your secret weapon!
