About this listen

Shocking evidence hits close to home for attorney Morgan Dane and PI Lance Kruger as Wall Street Journal bestselling author Melinda Leigh's acclaimed series continues.

Private investigator Lance Kruger was just a boy when his father vanished twenty-three years ago. Since then he's lived under the weight of that disappearance - until his father's car is finally dredged up from the bottom of Grey Lake. It should be a time for closure, except for the skeleton found in the trunk. A missing person case gone cold has become one of murder, and Lance and attorney Morgan Dane must face the deadly past that's risen to the surface.

For Lance, the investigation yields troubling questions about a man he thought he knew. But memories can play dirty tricks. For Morgan, uncovering each new lie comes with a disquieting fear that someone is out there watching, because someone is killing every witness tied to this decades-old crime. Morgan and Lance follow in the shadows of a relentless killer and walk right into the crossfire.

Bad sheriff!

Bones Don't Lie is Book 3 in the attorney Morgan Dane (and PI Lance Kruger) suspense mystery series. The novel is excellent, but I enjoyed the first two novels in the series more. Cris Dukehart narrates this series; I'm not a fan of her narration.

Great thriller

This story is full of twists and turns that keep you guessing about the outcome. The ending ties up a story line that has run throughout the series and clears the way for the main characters to deepen their relationship. Cris Dukehart delivered a great performance which actually enhanced this great audiobook.

Unexpected (to me) plot twists

I might be bad at reasoning "who'dun it" but the Leigh's villains in the Morgan Dane series have been unexpected.

While Kendra Elliot's books with Ava and Mercy have the suspense, crime, and investigation; Leigh's books have the addition of mystery.

The duality of these psychopaths is experienced by the reader first-hand with The contrast between the villain's mind/perspective and their societal masks.

GOOD READ

WHILE ALWAYS PROVIDING THE ENDING I NEED (I MEAN IF I WANT RISKY ENDINGS, I CAN WATCH THE NEWS), MS. LEIGH STILL MANAGES TO INCLUDE ENOUGH TWISTS AND TURNS TO KEEP IT INTERESTING. I AM ABOUT TO BUY THE NEXT BOOK IN THE SERIES. OH, AND AS CRITICAL AS THE WRITING, TO ME, IS A GOOD READER. MS. DUKEHART DID NOT DISAPPOINT.

Another fun mystery

Although I thought I knew who was killing everyone, it wasn’t confirmed until the end of the book. It wasn’t that there were many clues, just a huntch. Great characters, especially now that we know them better as it’s farther in the series. Love the kids! Love grandpa!
I got confused a bit in the middle as there were so many new male characters, I couldn’t remember who was friends with lances dad, who was with Mary, and who was a cop twenty years ago. However, I figured it out and I’m on to the next book!!!!
