This is such a fun story about a half-human girl who, according to the pure-blood fae, shouldn't be able to bond with a dragon and definitely shouldn't be meddling in fae affairs. Unfortunately for the nay-sayers, Talia lives and breathes dragons, and will stop at nothing to achieve her dream of proving them all wrong and becoming a Mist Knight.

The narrator had amazing energy and was great for the bubbly, sunshiny Talia as well as her anxious, excitable best friend, but I found myself having to decrease the speed just a tad so I didn't miss any details.

This book had it all...dragon riders, true friendship, set the scene for the perfect series, and best of all, hilarious banter (and a nice amount of spice too) between the FMC & MMC! Without spoilers, I enjoyed seeing that they went through various stages in their relationship. Though it seemed a little quick sometimes, it is only because this is a shorter book to introduce everyone. I instantly bought the next two in the series, as I cannot wait to read about the adventures and funny situations I am sure Talia will get into!

Narration was really great and easy to listen to. I enjoyed the pacing and inflection, giving feeling and emotion to the various scenes too.
