Where was this book when I was 16?

I love the book. It's full of great advice that's not condescending in the least. It's really compassionate too. It's not just a book of affirmations; it's got context and thoughtful explanations. Great narrator too.

The skills you need to succeed

What a great resource for improving your social skills both in corporate or out and about in public.
I think my favourite chapter was #5, warm up your vocal cords and raise the roof! Science based tips and tricks are included too. Also, Mia shares personal setbacks and the “wins” that came of it. I think these should relate to most people! Highly recommended!

A Stonkin Good Listen!

Being young is definitely not always easy. You have mood swings, hormones and all kinds of other stuff to challenge you daily. Social skills are something all young adults may need help with and this book definitely delivers. It's well narrated and delivers the details in a non-condescending way. I think you'll love this book.

Written for Teens

I thought this was written well for teenagers. It was relatable for them and written so they could understand and use the techniques discussed.

I as a parent thought the section on real-life tips from actual people very useful and I also really found the myths vs facts insightful. I hope those that need it find this book because it is going to help them!!!

Mental Health topics in 2022 language

Con: The author mentioned "Asperger's" being "overcome" by one of the individuals in the example stories.
Pros: The content seemed to be a distillation of the ideas in many self help books that I've read over the years but written in a way that feels current and relatable to the youth of today.

Perfect for Introverts!

As a parent of three teens, two of whom are directly affected by social anxiety, I can highly recommend this book. I found the topics discussed relevant as it related to changing their mindset and finding their voice. The tone of the book will make it easy for teens to engage as well.
