About this listen

By 1873, the great buffalo herds have been all but wiped out, and the hide hunters are looking for other work. So, when Gage Jameson hears of one remaining herd, he sees a final opportunity to make a huge profit. But to find the buffalo, he will have to take his line of wagons deep into Comanche territory, where death lurks behind every rock.

Kelton's feel for the last days of the American West is evident in each chapter of Buffalo Wagons. As Jameson and his crew journey further into danger, the growing tension is dramatically voiced by Audie Award-winning narrator George Guidall.

so far I have been enjoying pretty much anything from Elmer Kelton.
good stories, superb narration. and each one has its own unique characters. this one may have started out a little slower but I loved the added drama about halfway through and listening to how it would all play out to the very last minute.
the added bonus is I found that several of his shorter books are available with Audible account free, I will be listening to all of them!

great story! thank you audible for free + catalog
