Build a Tribe

Networking often has a negative connotation to it. The author shows how networking can create value by building a tribe -- people willing to help each other in the areas of their skills and specialty.

Good advice, too bad it’s wrapped in woke garbage

To the author: you’re not a victim, you haven’t been oppressed. You are race baiting by talking about how you were worried you’d be oppressed because you’re a ‘minority’ (news flash Asians account for 60% of the world’s population). In your next breath you go on to say you had an idyllic childhood in Paris, then you say you went to an Ivy League school and got your break from connections. You e lived a privileged life, lady.
And all that is fine and dandy but you left one big part out. You never corrected your initial statement, you only provided evidence to the contrary.

Insight

Thanks for the insight. I have always worried about networking and have declined help from others thinking I didn’t know enough or deserve it. Not fully comfortable on the managing of a network but look forward to learn.

Great for women!

The background noise is quite distracting. I wish they toned it down. The author's voice is calming, confident and competent.

Great quick tips from her experience. Great for women specially those who feel like they ask too much or that they're not 100% qualified. Men wouldn't generally hesitate to receive a referral even when they're just 60% qualified. It is okay to accept help. Offer to help outside of your responsibility, accept challenges and go beyond expectations. Give. Give. Give. Do not be an exploiter. Don't ask too much too soon without earning it first. Don't name drop, etc.
