Critic reviews

“A terrific saga.” (Midwest Book Review)

“[Briggs] spins tales of werewolves, coyote shifters and magic and, my, does she do it well.... If you like action, violence, romance and, of course, werewolves, then I urge you to pick up this series.” (USAToday.com)

“Interesting, fast-paced urban fantasy.... [An] imaginative writer who always leaves fans anxiously waiting for the next tale.” (Monsters and Critics)

Narrator forgetting his voices

I listened to the first 4 books in this series as a refresher before the new one. I noticed in the previous book the narrator was changing voices and he continued that through this book.

Story is fantastic, the narrator needs to refresh his memory before the next book.

So many twists

This book had me cheering, and laughing, and crying, and hurting for these characters. I love seeing Anna come more into her own with her powers. I am crushed to learn about the final twist of the knife. I also really enjoyed hearing more about Leah and Kara. I finished this book in a day and a half, and will be immediately listening to it again. I love the rich world that Ms.Briggs has formed both in Alpha and Omega and Mercy Thompson, and I’m not quite ready to leave it yet.

Burn Bright

I liked this story, but it wasn’t as compelling as some of the previous books in this series. There was some deus ex machina going on that I never like to see in a story, so that probably had some bearing on my opinion.

I did like seeing Anna learning to control her Omega gift in this story. That’s part of the fun of an ongoing series. You get to revisit favorite characters & see them grow & evolve.

Wildling

Charles is left with taking over for Bran while Bran is helping Adam rescue Mercy and then decides to visit Africa. One of the Wildlings call to request from Bran help from invaders, and Charles and Anna answer the call. Wilding ( werewolves so close to the end of their lives or being hunted), invading hunters after the Wildling, and a missing Bran make this mystery of who is the spy a book to read or listen to over and over.
This is definitely a book for readers of at least 16 due to the violence.

felt a little short

I felt like the book was a little short. maybe it just felt that way. it was still a good story though.
it was interesting to have a male narrator for one of Patricia Briggs books but I think he was a good pick. His accent for Bran was great but it was
a large voice, I think Bran's voice would be deceptively soft.

Charles and anna deal with problems at home

Patricia Briggs never disappoints. Especially with this book. It is great. Some insight on the mercy childhood. Great new characters and great old characters.

Another Exceptional Adventure

We are just in love with Charles and his Anna. Every one of these stories build the romance and the need for another story....

Deception at it’s finest

4.5 stars. Burn Bright is a well written story involving subterfuge, intrigue, death, history, and black magic. Charles and his mate Anna are in charge of the pack while Bran is away. The pack is faced with finding out why a Wildling and her mate died. What is discovered rocks the pack at its core. A few new characters and an enemy are introduced. This story reminds me of unfinished business, that if left unresolved it will come back to bite you. I took a half star off because I felt that more story could have been provided regarding Bran, Asil's hunt, Leah, Hester, Devon, & Jericho. The narrator did a good job
