About this listen

I'm working off my buttons.

But I'm also giving them away.

The more I fall for Crow, the more I want him to do the things that I want. Dinners, dates, and evenings at the beach.

Everything comes at a price, and quickly the hoard of buttons I worked hard to earn are depleted.

Will this go back and forth forever? Or will someone run out of their buttons first?

Completely absorbed

This series is everything!!

From start to finish, I didn’t breathe, I didn’t eat, I didn’t smile, I didn’t do anything... ok, maybe I’m lying. But it felt like it.

For days, I was in a trance. My earbuds glued to my ears as I made my way through this epic, dark, twisty and angsty journey. I got little sleep because I just couldn’t put it down. I can’t even review separately because I couldn’t stop long enough between books to review.

And that is no joke.

Michael and Samantha couldn’t have been more perfect. They portrayed all characters so distinctly that I knew exactly who was speaking at all times and that couldn’t have been easy. They are truly talented.

Awesome!

Incredibible story. Keeps you on the edge of your seat, and wanting more. Can't wait for the Buttons and Pain. Love the way the writer tells both POV.

I liked listening to the series however the logic used to take keep Pearl is completely bananas & unbelievable but it's still pretty good.

Really great Read

Even though this is a dark love story, it has its moments of beauty. These are twisted up people finding their own way with affection, and while this isn't a sweet feel good type of story, there are moments of sweetness, and there are moments that make you feel good.

The author has bridged the gap with this book, the gap that usually makes you feel pretty sick after the darker story lines with something different. While this type of love isn't for everyone, it is right for the two in the book.

The performers were great. Not one complaint. Both of them read beautifully and with just the right amount of emotion. I'm buying book three now and hoping its as good as this one :)

heart wrenching in a delicious way

waiting for the third installment is torture especially when I am not seeing the audible up with it yet. I read the first 2 then upon release of second I decided to get the audible as well and started over from the beginning to feel everything anew as the narrator's engulfed me in the tale again. highly recommend.
dark, delicious, tender, heart wrenching while keeping you up and turning pages eager to devour more insight into them.

If 10 Stars Were Available This Book Would Earn Them !

Crow and Pearl are so magnificent together. I loved this first book but this one has stolen my heart. It's a story that never lets your attention wane. I'm going to start the next book in the series now. I can't possibly stop reading this until I know what happens.

Just as good as the first!

Just as the first book brought me so much enjoyment, this one was no exception. Of course, my exasperation over the extreme level of delusion Crow is under has me wanting to shake an imaginary character, but that's why I love this series. After the last triology I read, I was eager to find another where I felt integrated into the storyline and invested in it. I have that with Pearl and Crow. But Crow really needs to get it together... he's messing up big time. One thing I really enjoyed was Cain's character. He was one that I wanted to hate and then I wanted to thank him for trying to talk sense into his brother. The author has surprised and delighted me, and as a result I will continue to buy the audio books for this series. The plot was unpredictable, the characters unpredictable, and the writing was excellent. Also, I must say I love the voice actors as well, although the male's impression of Pearl always makes me chuckle a bit. Onward and upward, to the next book I go!
In closing: DEFINITELY worth the read and the money. I will pay $14 for the 7 hours of enjoyment any day of the week.
