I love the Black Mage series! the story is great the characters are great but this time the narrator on the audiobook was terrible! I'm not sure why they changed narrators but this one was so blah and Bland with no emotion it was almost like hearing someone read out of a textbook. Sometimes I would have to rewind and listen to something again because it was so monotone I couldn't tell when the different characters were speaking until she said their names. I'm definitely going to check the narrator before I buy the next audio book in the series. if it is the same one I'll just have to get the book and read it myself when I have a chance because I don't want to miss out on the story just because of the bad narrator.

Amazing story, terrible narrator. I couldn't even tell if someone was talking or if it was the main characters inner dialogue, her voice was just so monotone. I would have loved if Melissa Moran narrated this one too. Amazing story, Rachel E Carter really knows how to rip my heart to pieces!!

How could the performance have been better?

Should have kept Melissa Moran as narrator. Patrice was very dry, robotic.

this was the 3rd book and I loved the first one but I didn't get a chance to read the 2nd book do to me being a mom and no time to read anymore just listen. so first off I would like the 2nd in audio please asap. now that's said the third was great I didn't feel to lost and the story unfolds beautifully. I really like the narrator she did a awesome job but I felt she had a little lisp sometimes. definitely worth a credit.

I had a very difficult time figuring out which character was saying what. The narrator’s voice was annoying and not easy to listen to.

The person reading this book is difficult to listen to. I was quite used to the voice I had heard for the main character Ria in previous books in the series. I have already purchased the rest of the series and hope they either go back to the original narrator or change up again. The series is not great, but better than mediocre. This narrator lessens my opinion of the series overall and definitely lowers it to mediocre at best.

We enjoyed the story as we have listened to previous books. The Performance was barely more than read, with breath stops very poorly done and areas read without intonation. We lost track of which character she was speaking!

I know Raya loved her brother Derek but she became a traiter because of him and I wished that that didn’t happen but it did and it made me turn it of for the night disappointed I Wissem that she wold stay loyal to Daren and they ran away but they got word that The new king’s advisers tired agent and slowly but surely his peeiple did to and a Cort season was held and the new king was Killed and Daren wold be heartbroken and rays wold nurse him back from the den that she had just crawled out of in the in the next book, Darren was forced to be interrogated and was clean so he would be able to be the king. Although Darren had to give up his black robe give it to raya and Daren dissited insted of having one king there be a board of advisers that dissited stuff for the contrite although Daren had to give the final decision on things he still left with rata and only the most trussed knight new were they were and it was Rayas old knight and they wold send the dissipons to him by mail an she would either say yes or no to the dissection that finally used the “ portions “ but soon after they stopes taking the positions on hope of a child and there wish came true at the end of the book she wold tell Daren she was pregnant.
