About this listen

They thought they were saving the world. Instead— they ended it.

Through an accident of science tens of millions of Americans have been transformed into ravenous cannibals. But this is far from a zombie apocalypse. So long as they satisfy their hunger for human flesh, these cannibals can still think—and those that do have rebuilt America into a twisted mockery of what once stood before. Now, civilization has been replaced by an anarchy of city states and warring cannibal factions, each pursuing the same dark purpose: To harvest human meat.

“Meat” like Cotton Wiley and his 12-year-old daughter Jean—two of only a handful of human survivors who still remain free from the cannibalistic affliction. They are on a perilous journey to Alaska, staying one-step ahead of the cannibal hordes thanks to the deadly skills Cotton learned as a Navy SEAL. However, no amount of training could have prepared Cotton and Jean for what they’ll face crossing the lawless expanse now known as the Texas Meat Belt—especially when a new cannibal faction descends on the region and forces Cotton and his daughter to take a stand right alongside their deadliest enemies.

Cannibal Warfare is the thrilling first installment in the Cannibal Warfare series—a fresh, taut, and realistic take on the “zombie apocalypse” genre.

Good story but not into cannibalism I thought it was going to be more of a zombie story. However great writing and story.

Not my cup of tea

As a former US Marine, really love the attention to detail on military tactics. Good character development. Definitely gives a different perspective to the zombie/non-zombie genre. I do wish the book would’ve been a little bit longer. Will be looking forward to the next one.

Just when you think you’ve read every type of Zombie/Apocalypse type of book along comes this gem. It’s premise is a huge paradigm shift on what’s been a tried and true model. I won’t tell you spoilers but it’s refreshing and really makes you look at the whole Apocalypse scenario from a completely different angle.
It does mirror some of the recent unpleasantness that we’ve had to endure the last few years so hopefully no one takes this as prophetic. (Although I did just order my steak medium RARE instead of medium….). It does almost give you a feeling you’re closer to the story line. Because you hear the same arguments and see some of the predicted outcomes
The narration was fine. No Skippy and the Merry Band of Pirates but not you 11th Grade Econ teacher either. Good pace not monotone decent characters
I recommend this book wholeheartedly. The only hiccup is waiting for the series to continue on Audible. I mean….I may have to start reading!

The story is engaging and well written, and the narration is excellent. The narrator does a great job of ramping up the tension in this intriguing and fast paced "what if" scenario novel. It is an interesting look at what could (maybe) have happened with the Covid pandemic, and it offers a frightening glimpse of just how quickly our society could crumble.

Tense and engaging

Interesting view and great story line. The spin at the end has me intrigued for the next book.

That’s a good book that I would recommend but I found some of the characters to be unrealistic a bit, as someone who shoots guns I know it takes thousands of rounds to remain accurate and I don’t think it’s always possible that you can pick up a gun that’s been thrown on the ground and have it still cited in and dead on. Also the story could’ve been flushed out just a bit more but I will definitely be picking up the second one.

Good book

Great Narration. Great story with knowledgeable action and not too much drama. Some of these types of post apocalyptic stories could be drama set anywhere, this has the setting really be a part of the story.

Fun fast listen that builds on current events with a what if scenario and expands from there. The characters are compelling and the narration is good.

Jordan Vezina’s Cannibal Warfare is kind of hard to describe. It’s kind of a quasi-zombie-esque action thriller. What do I mean by quasi-zombie? Well people have been changed after receiving a vaccine from the government. But unlike so many other tales, in this story the people don’t become brains craving zombies, they develop a hankering for human flesh. Yep they become cannibals! Cannibal Warfare details the journey of former Navy SEAL Cotton Wiley and his young daughter as they trek across the ‘Texas meat belt’ doing whatever they need to do to survive in this crazy new post apocalyptic world. Solid story with plenty of action…and the ending…well, no spoilers but it definitely sets up thing to get kicked up a notch for the next book.

Unique twist on the zombie genre
