Publisher's summary

Alexia Maccon, the Lady Woolsey, awakens in the wee hours of the midafternoon to find her husband, who should be decently asleep like any normal werewolf, yelling at the top of his lungs. Then he disappears, leaving her to deal with a regiment of supernatural soldiers encamped on her doorstep, a plethora of exorcised ghosts, and an angry Queen Victoria.

But Alexia is armed with her trusty parasol, the latest fashions, and an arsenal of biting civility. So even when her investigations take her to Scotland, the backwater of ugly waistcoats, she is prepared, upending werewolf pack dynamics as only the soulless can. She might even find time to track down her wayward husband, if she feels like it.

Changeless is the second book of the Parasol Protectorate series: a comedy of manners set in Victorian London, full of werewolves, vampires, dirigibles, and tea drinking.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Fun with Dirigibles

I thought the second book was quite fun and I can’t wait for the 3rd. Part mystery, part romcom, part comedy of errors. The addition of new characters and side stories might have made it a little soapy, but that’s also what made it so great! Who doesn’t love a good soap opera?!

Fantastic Sequel

The entire series is Wonderful. This is the second I have tried on audible and narrator does an excellent job bringing the book to life. if you enjoy a slightly zany story filled with romance this is the book for you. This is Victorian steampunk with vampires and werewolves tossed in.

Exquisite!

A true, who done it. With twists and turns. Followed by surprises and unexpected outcomes. The end was nothing short of spectacular. It hooks you so you have to get the next book or die of curiosity as to what happens next. The author is a genius. Thanks for all the fun!

Totally Enjoyable

I enjoyed it quite as much as the first book in this series and am looking forward to the 3rd. If I've a complaint it's that Connal is a bit thick or the author thinks her readers are. That being said, I'm looking forward to what amount of trouble Alexa can get herself into.

best author ever!

Gail Carriger has the ability to build a unique world full of diverse, interesting characters. Each person has their own voice and characteristics. I loves them all---except for the automaton in book one. He give me the absolute creeps.
The hatmaker is a fascinating person, full of surprises. Lord Fancypants, the vampire, is amazing. His frippery combined with impeccable manners makes him a memorable beloved character (sorry, I suck at remembering names). Biffy is possibly the most endearing person in this world. Of course, Miss Tarabotti and Lord Maccoon, with their unusual relationship, make the book.
great narration. thank you

Dis Narrator Doe

This series continues to astound me in all the best ways. I'm constantly laughing at dialogue and the inner monologue of the main character. The storyline is good. And the narrator on Audible may be the best I've ever heard.

Emily Gray, I would listen to you read a shopping list as long as you gave each item its own accent and speech pattern. I'm especially curious about Velveeta cheese.

I'd rate this a PG-13 for mild swearing (mostly British), tame violence, and adult themes including chaste cavorting between a husband and wife.

A good continuation

Still funny, witty, and simply fun. Be prepared - there’s a cliffhanger. Can’t wait to see what misadventures and uncovered mysteries are next.

4.5 Stars

Changeless is book 2 of the series. I am rating it as 4.5 stars because I loved it but rating it against book 1, I loved book 1 even more. The narration is fantastic! I'm a little upset about the ending and wonder how that will go in book 3.
