About this listen

I met Sarah Kate Erickson when I was 21 years old. I was lucky enough to keep her for seven years before a tragic accident stole her from me. She didn't die, but sometimes I think it would have been easier if she had. I lived in a haze for those four years after the accident. Catering to her every need, even though she hated the very sight of my face. I tried to hold on to her and the future that we were supposed to build together. But you can't hold on to someone that doesn't exist anymore. It wasn't until I met Jesse Addison, a barista at the local coffee shop, that I realized I didn't just lose Sarah that tragic night; I lost myself as well.

Whine, whine, whine

If you like insecure females, this is for you. I'm not sure in what land men are this patient in brand new relationships THEY don't even know they are comfortable with, but hey....maybe somewhere. I actually liked his ex better than the main female lead. How the heck did that happen?
The female narrator doesn't do men well, at all.

Disappointed

I really love every Aly Martinez book I have listened to, but this one was rough to get through. Lucy Rivers narration ruined it for me. Her voice for the male parts is awful and she made the female main character sound like a 15 yr old ditzy valley girl. I’m not entirely sure if that is why I could barely stand Jesse or if it was also because of the way the character was written. I really want to finish the series but I don’t know if I can listen to another book with Lucy Rivers as a narrator.

LUCY RIVERS SPEAKS THROUGH HER NOSE

Can someone send this women through speech therapy or an ENT physician. Perhaps it would be easier if she simply stopped narrating perfectly fine books and leave it to people who don't start and stop sentences through their sinus ducts.

Fabulous narration

I enjoyed the book but I can't say I loved either character. I would advise women to avoid men like Brett in real life. And Jesse's timid and insecure ways struck me as immature at times. It was annoying.

Couldn’t finish on audible

I ended up downloading the kindle version of this book. The female narrator’s voice seemed pleasant at first, but it really wore on me! I couldn’t stand when she would do the male voice and had to stop listening.

The actual story was pretty good!

Emotional

An all encompassing heartbreakingly emotional and captivating story. I was enthralled from beginning to end. I enjoyed going on this crushing roller coaster ride with Brett, Jesse and Sarah.

A few plot twists with a love story.

Suspense plot, with a love story. Secrets that could have been avoided by just communicating with the other person. Also, the ex-wife has my sympathy because trauma things.

Captivating story

Brett losses his wife the night that she and her best friend are involved in a horrific car crash that takes the life of the best friend and takes his wife's life as they knew it. Brett has been fighting to stand by his wife for 4 years despite the fact that she does not want to be married to him anymore. Brett meets Jesse who helps him find a second chance at love so he can finally let go of his wife to find his happily ever after. The book was hard to put down, it kept me enthralled at all times!. I highly recommend this story.
