Publisher's summary
In the third book of the number-four New York Times best-selling Neverwinter saga, Drizzt draws his swords once more to aid his friends. His lover, Dahlia Sin’felle, can speak of nothing but the moment she will face the Netherese lord Herzgo Alegni once again. Drizzt has already followed a trail of vengeance beside Dahlia. Can he justify one more battle to settle a grudge he does not understand?
Artemis Entreri too seeks vengeance. He offers to aid Dahlia in her mission to destroy Alegni. But Charon’s Claw, Alegni’s sentient sword, dominates Entreri’s movements - if not his mind. And then there’s the way Entreri looks at Dahlia. Can Drizzt trust his old foe?

The gods gifted their champion, Daemron, with three magical Talismans: a sword, a ring, and a crown. But the awesome power at his command corrupted Daemron, turning him from savior to destroyer. Filled with pride, he dared to challenge the gods themselves. Siding with the Chaos spawn, Daemron waged a titanic battle against the Immortals. In the end, Daemron was defeated, the Talismans were lost, and Chaos was sealed off behind the Legacy - a magical barrier the gods sacrificed themselves to create.

Story
Their peace was a fragile thing, but it had endured for seven years, mostly because the people of Darassus and the king of the Naor hordes believed his doom was foretold upon the edge of the great sword hung in the hall of champions. Unruly Naor clans might raid across the border, but the king himself would never lead his people to war so long as the blade remained in the hands of his enemies. But when squire Elenai’s aging uncovers evidence that the sword in their hall is a forgery, she’s forced to flee Darassus for her life, her only ally the reckless, disillusioned Kyrkenall.

Best of the never winter series so far.
A very good tale with a great deal of character development, intrigue and action. It felt like Salvatore returned to the snappy and engaging stories of the dark elf trilogy but with the skill and excitement of his characters lengthy history. The entreri, drizzt and dahlia triangle was a great ensemble while alegni and charon's clae have become memorable villains. victor's readings were well done though a few basic words like 'bade' and 'lived' were poorly pronounced.

Dahlia's verbal abuse bothers me
Look, I understand that Dahlia has some kind of PTSD and is emotionally messed up, but her constant verbal abuse of Drizzt pisses me off. This is an abusive relationship if I've ever seen one. I hope Drizzt gets far away from her and back into a loving relationship with someone who deserves him. Kinda hoping she dies. Really she's already dead inside.

audible please redo the few Drizzt books that are narrated by others with victor bevine please? I returned some of R.A. Salvatore books because I couldn't follow the story, these others are fine narrator's but Victor readings are a straight path to my imagination. I will buy all of The Dark elf stories that Victor bevine Narrates, the written novels too for my library because my collection of scifi and fantasy is my soul.

It just keeps getting better!
Wow...R.A. Salvatore does it again! All of his books are so consistently great! And, it is so awesome to have Entreri back in the game adventuring with our favorite hero Drizzt. A real blast from the past and such a fun character. If you have read the other two, read this one! I truly enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one in the series.

Good book, but not great
Salvatore has made another work worth reading, but there is an issue I am having with the main character, drizzt. He is spending all of his time with a female elf, dahlia, who is really annoying. It is hard to like this character, and it is my hope salvatore kills the worthless wench off before too long.
