About this listen

A Christmas wedding in Colorado? A two-week celebration with family and friends? Who does that?

Photojournalist Reagan Bryant has just returned from six-month stint in Afghanistan. Haunted by the tragedy that ended her last assignment, she's searching for some peace - something to end the guilt and chase the trauma away. Two weeks at the resort hotel owned by her future sister-in-law's father seems like the perfect escape.

Shelby Sutton doesn't trust women. They always seem more interested in her father's money than in her. But at her sister's request, she vows to make friends with Reagan, a woman whose sad and haunted eyes are nearly impossible to ignore.

A two week wedding, at Christmas!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would... Most people who have a mother or mother in law can relate to this storyline.

What other book might you compare Chasing a Brighter Blue to and why?

I wouldn't compare this book to any other ... mostly because it covers so many different communities and working thru a horrible experience.

Which character – as performed by Nicol Zanzarella – was your favorite?

Shelby

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I would love to see this book in film format, but I'm not sure what tag line I'd use

Who say only fools fall in love? Two smart sexy woman also do as fools and future brides do!

The setting her sister's wedding in Colorado, at a resort hotel at the bottom of Rocking Mts. National park. A Christmas wedding that the bride's mother has turned into a all expense paid two week event instead of the simple Christmas family only one evening event they had planned. The mother is into every detail. Which leads to much comedy when she is up against the groom's sister, who does not wear dresses not even bridesmaid ones, she is willing to wear a tuxedo though. Anyway since the groom's sister and the bride's sister are also both gay sparks fly, most from the bride's mother. Still there is no stopping true love, not ever the scars of the past.

Loved it

Lately I got hooked on audio and Ms Zanzarella, did a very good job in narrating this different novel. I loved it, it was not your regular girl meets girl, they make love/sex there is a big drama and finally a happy end. It starts with the drama...
Cute.

I just love how Nicol narrates any book!

You can't help but put yourself in Colorado, even if you have never been there! Nicol smashes it out of the park once again! Her narration is never dull and always true to each character! She simply puts you deep into the text! Loved it!

Chasing a Brighter Blue

Another great story by Gerri Hill!

Shelby and Reagan bond over their siblings' wedding extravaganza. Turns out that their time spent together becomes much more than a holiday fling. Connection, acceptance, a safe haven, falling in love, allowing space to heal, letting go - all a part of this beautiful holiday romance.

Nicol Zanzarella did an awesome job narrating!

Sappy and implausible but sweet

Gerri Hill's books are rather formulaic yet offer an enjoyable few hours of escape from reality.

Great listen for the winter holidays!

I just love this book. This is my 3rd read of this book, but my first listen. I didn't think listening to it on audible would make me love it more... but it sure did. The narrator is so talented. Great voices and story telling. Love the story and pace. I legit wish this was made into Lesbian Hallmark movie! It's the perfect basis for that type of movie, but better. A Christmas wedding starts it all! love this book.

First audio for me

As a long-time fan of Geri Hill books, I was excited to find her here. I had never used audiobooks before but with long drives, every day for work wanted to try it and I am hooked. I love the narration and how she changed her tone for different characters without sounding weird. Being hard of hearing the clear dictation was a lifesaver and I was able to enjoy and understand a new favorite from my favorite author.
