Jake Lassiter Tackles the College Admissions Scandal

Rich parents will pay anything to get their kids into college...

For a price, Kip Lassiter can get the perfect score on any test...

And Kip's heartbroken Uncle Jake must defend an unwinnable case.

Kip has been working with millionaire Max Ringle in a shady scheme to help rich, spoiled kids gain admission to elite universities. Ringle, the mastermind of the fraud, cops a plea and shifts the blame to Kip.

Dr. Melissa Gold, Lassiter's fiancée, tries to keep the ailing lawyer strong enough for a grueling trial, even as his symptoms of brain damage grow worse. As a fiery showdown with Ringle brings the courtroom to a fever pitch, Lassiter risks everything - including his own life - to fight for his nephew's freedom.

"Cheater's Game is a top-notch tale from Paul Levine, and his Lassiter is my kind of lawyer!" --Michael Connelly, author of The Lincoln Lawyer

Addictive Series

Paul Levine delivers another great Jake Lassiter book! I had skipped reading Bum Luck, so I was surprised to find that Jake is engaged and that his CTE has gotten worse. Also, Kip is now grown and is Jake's client. Uncle Jake to the rescue! Now I'm going back to listen to Bum Luck.

My heart sunk a little when I realized Luke Daniel was not narrating this book, but I got used to the American Dad voice soon after the first chapter and discovered the narrator could still use different voices very well.

Classic Jake Lassiter

Fantastic roller coaster. Recent events interwoven with old stories. The reader did a great job too.

One of the best of the series

Listened to them all...this one was excellent. Best in terms of courtroom drama and a matured Jake.

New narrator was excellent (sans some bad pronunciations of South Florida cities and other things) but overall very good.

I truly hope there is more Jake to come.

Outstanding legal thriller!

The wise cracking Jake Lassiter is more serious in CHEATER'S GAME by Paul Levine. That's quite a change from the early novels in this legal thriller series. Part of that is because Lassiter is in the early/mid stages of dementia caused by too many concussions caused by hits he took playing college and pro football. Most of it is because he is defending his 20 year old nephew Kip who he raised against charges that could put him in prison for the rest of his life. Lassiter has strong support from his doctor and fiance Melissa Gold. I swore off this series 4 novels ago because they had become trite and am happy I am back. Scott Merriman does a great job of narration.

Chreater's Game

Excellent read, although I missed the older characters, it held up well. The illness of Jake did sadden me a bit, but the story line was excellent.
I would recommend this book.

Excellent narration as usual.
