Publisher's summary

From the award-winning Frank Cottrell Boyce comes the third official sequel to Ian Fleming's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The Tootings are stuck in 1966! Somebody has stolen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and left them behind - but that's not their biggest problem. Their biggest problem is that Little Harry has been kidnapped by whoever stole their magical car. There's only one solution: the Tootings must find the Potts - the family that originally built Chitty.

Sharing their combined knowledge of how Chitty works, the families may stand a chance of rescuing Little Harry and finding the most brilliant car in the world. But a fiendish criminal has different plans, ones that involve flying Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to the moon and putting an explosive scheme into action.

Boyce and Tennant, a great combination

The third and final installment in Boyce's Chitty trilogy is just as funny and exciting as the previous books. It's also ultimately touching. And David Tennant is as always wonderful. I love the fact that each book has included an interview with him.

The finale of the sequel trilogy

What did you love best about Chitty Chitty Bang Bang over the Moon?

The final few minutes/pages...how things have changed after all was said and done.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang over the Moon?

Again, the last bit, the epilogue if you will. It justifies the whole previous sequel series.

Have you listened to any of David Tennant’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Only his other Chitty Chitty Bang Bang readings. He again brought a sense of wonder and fun to the story and, in my opinion, saved it from being merely ok.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

In Space No One Can hear you AAHOOOHGAA!

Any additional comments?

As previously noted, the sequels probably should be viewed and read/listened to as one longer story to have them all make sense.

Creative

The final book in the series is, I consider, the most fantastic of the four. It grounds itself just enough to keep it from becoming ridiculous though. Still there are those moments when readers just have to turn off the brain to keep yourself from tearing the book apart.

David Tennet helping kept me in the book.

David Tennet had an amazing performance but the story was pretty bad. I enjoyed the 1st and 2nd book the most.

Let me just say…………..

David Tenant aka Doctor Who is the greatest narrator in history and as a major How Ti Train Your Dragon fan/Whovian/person who grew up with Chitty I was thrilled to find these books they are amazing and funny

Tedious to finish, only David Tenant kept me in it

I much enjoyed the original book and the first sequal was interesting. The second sequal started to drag, but this one was simply tedious. If not for Mr. Tenant's excellent performance I would have closed out this final book within the first hour. Even his wonderful characterizations barely kept me going. I am not sure if I would have started the sequals (which are a single long story, not independant) if I had known how bad this last book is. Children may enjoy it and it may just be my adult perspective that made this book seem so bad.
