Publisher's summary

This city tells a story of a man seeking vengeance....

Renzo Marchesi gives me two choices when he walks into my art gallery: help him find his brother's killer or suffer the consequences.

He's a mafia prince.... Heir to the Marchesi throne. A man consumed by his demons. Beautiful. Ruthless.

I don't belong in his world, and he doesn't belong in mine.

Still, I'm not the spoiled politician's daughter he thinks I am....

This is the City of Thieves, where lies are hard currency and deception is the real art.

Trust no one. Love no one.

Too bad I don't follow my own rules....

City of Thieves is an enemies-to-lovers mafia romance with no cliff-hanger and a guaranteed HEA. For mature listeners only.

Fast Paced, Dark, and Addicting

City of Thieves is fast paced, dark and addicting. Tatiana and Renzo's passion is off the charts as these two come together to take down a common enemies. The action and suspense was great as the storyline pulled me in from start to finish.

Vivienne LaRue and Alan Carlson are a fantastic duo and do a great job bringing this dark mafia read to life.

Renzo and Tatiana’s dark and twisted enemies to lovers tale had my full attention from the start. It was filled with secrets, sacrifice and a strong thirst for vengeance. I highly recommend adding this story to the top of your list of listens! I promise you won’t be disappointed. I absolutely loved the storyline and narration!!!

Mafia

Overall, I enjoyed the story, and have enjoyed previous works by these authors. In this story, I did not feel the chemistry/connection between the main characters. One item I just could not buy, which was letting the kid go to Moscow for five years without having a solid connection to her, surveillance, etc… I felt based on events, he would have had his thumb on her and known every little thing happening in her life. However, despite these objections, the story was good, fast paced, and entertaining.

I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving my review.

⭐️ WOW YOU TWO ⭐️ YOU’RE AMAZING ⭐️ IT BLEW ME AWAY ⭐️

When two amazing authors I love and follow team up to hopefully create Mafia magic then I’m going to one click that gimme gimme gimme button as fast as I can and watch the download screen with gleeful greedy eyes until I can finally hit play. Sigh.. and play it does as the chilling Prologue of an eighteen year old’s heartache and mental fracture comes at the hands of her manipulative evil Russian abuser (.. but not detailed). It’s the reason for this Gallery Owner’s now twenty-three year old Ice Queen persona.. or is there much more to Tatiana’s story?

Willing to fill his dead brother’s seat as Underboss in the New Jersey’s Mafia next to his Don father, Renzo is first going to find his brother’s brutal killer.. and this handsome, cold, dark avenger’s first port of call brings him to a chilling bidding war with the Ice Queen. And you can feel the chills and angst between these two as Renzo manipulates, charms and gives the Queen an offer too good to refuse because his quest to find out who killed his brother starts with her. And Tatiana reluctantly grabs the lifeline to save her failing Art Gallery.

Renzo is dark, closed off and deadly and Tatiana is alone fighting to protect everyone who has been viciously cut out of her life. These enemies use sarcastic snipes, charm and veiled warnings as verbal swordplay lashing out their heartache, desperation and bitterness in fiery flames and those flames will slowly melt an Ice Queen’s facade and warm a cold dead Underboss’ heart. But there’s a well-written and fast-paced labyrinth to navigate together and these awesome authors expertly collaborate with well-calibrated tension, twists, thrills and danger around every turn. And their character’s well-placed but always dangerous steps lead them to secrets, mystery, blackmail, forgery, suspense, betrayal, pawns and powerful players. Their chemistry and steam won’t be enough though, these authors have skilfully made sure they’ll need to spill their truths, trust each other, hold tight and take the leap of faith that gets them their happily ever after.

Worth a credit? Yes definitely, it’s unique, suspenseful, multi-layered, steamy, swoony and has non-stop action. It’s also well-narrated and had me from the start and I gratefully didn’t let go until I’d milked every last delicious drop.

4.75 Revenge is sweet STARS

Revenge mafia story with some blackmail thrown in and plenty of smexy times. It also has enemies to lovers vibes even though the revenge the hero is seeking isn’t towards the heroine. Renzo is set to be the underboss but finding out who killed his brother is his top priority. Tatiana is estranged from her family and has been blackmailed since she was 18. Their journey takes us to the art world where we see that some will do whatever it takes to get their hands on priceless pieces. Forgery, back stabbing, and multiple villains make this a book full of twists and turns. There is SA very early on so beware if that is a trigger for you.

Narration was 5 STARS I will be looking for more books narrated by Alan Carlson.

This is a stand-alone book in the Underworld Kings series and set in the Corrupt Gods duet world. Tatiana and Renzo are complete enemies that find themselves caught in the same battle, but on opposite ends. They come together to find out they want the same outcome. They both want Constantine dead. Their passion is off the charts 🥵🥵🔥🔥. This is a enemies to lovers Mafia romance. Vivienne LaRue and Alan Carlson do a phenomenal job narrating this book. I loved every minute!

A Show Stopper!

This is full of twists and turns! I LOVE that! There is a lot happening throughout this story so keep your ears peeled! I really enjoy the scenes that these two authors come up with in their mafia world.

There are a few scenes between the two Mc that had a few questionable acts. They were a little difficult for me to relate to. But other than that I really enjoyed the story. Very inventive!

I did listen to this on audio. Vivienne LaRue and Alan Carlson did an amazing job narrating! That Russian language among the others was great to listen to. I enjoy how these authors alway put those touches into the story.
