Publisher's summary

Top 100 international Amazon best seller

From Cora Kenborn and Catherine Wiltcher comes Corrupt Gods, a brand-new arranged-marriage mafia duet.

A Santiago is a lesson in ruin.

A Carrera bleeds for revenge.

Thalia Santiago is the daughter of my enemy. A beautiful rebel with a single cause. Impulsive. Fearless. And ripe for her father's undoing.

I recognized her the moment she stepped into my casino. I watched her start the fires that burned her pretty fingers, and then I poured gasoline on the flames. Now she's in my debt, and her dues are a shiny gold ring and a vow of deception.

I'll bend her. I'll break her. I'll turn our mockery of a marriage into a battlefield. And that river of bad blood that flows between our two families? I'll make it an ocean of hate.

This is book one of a new dark romance duet. Tainted Blood, book two, is now live.

Bad Blood is set in the Santiago and Carrera worlds, but it is not necessary to have listened to either trilogy beforehand.

AN ENJOYABLE ENEMIES-to-ENEMIES SLOW-BURN

Warring families, wagers and a marriage bargain struck between enemies starts this story off.. but along the way secrets are kept, trust is zero, the ante rises and masked men make their move. The Mexican Carrera Prince and his Colombian Santiago Princess new wife for a week circle each other as enemies, they get closer with each verbal thrust and can’t help but touch the flame that flares between them. But danger is all around their slow-burn and one wrong move destroys it all when the dark Villain sees the light too late and the sassy ex Virgin loses everything.

I did enjoy this dual POV story but it was way more friction-filled enemies than passionate lovers as Santi played his pawn Thalia well knowing she’d do anything to save the reputation of her sister. Which is the blackmail start that got her desperately crossing the line into his Casino.. but she didn’t bargain on getting caught. Now Thalia is a Prince’s pawn however, neither realize she isn’t the only piece on the board.. so, as family and ruling Kings come to voice their suspicions and trigger point, they leave gaps in their defences and the resulting suspense and danger in the Epilogue is the chilling cliffhanger ending.

Worth a credit? Yes, despite the hero and heroine only being 22 and 17, I’ll definitely get book 2 which (hopefully) will have much more spark and sizzle along with the drama. And I really enjoyed Aaron’s great narration which was perfect for alpha Santi but (for me) Stephanie’s male voice was just ok.

Brilliant Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Intense!

Two brilliant authors team up to write this amazing mafia romance novel, the first of the “Gods Duet”. The writing is superb and the story they created is interesting and original, it grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end. It is the type of book that, once you start, you can not put down because you need to know what happens next. The character development and mafia world building is phenomenal, I found both to be intriguing, easy to understand and connect with. Thalia Santiago is the daughter of a Columbian mob boss, but she is not mafia princess, she wants her independence and is fierce about things she believes in and loves, which includes her sister and protecting her by any means necessary and that has her stepping into the enemy’s territory. Santi Carrera wants to prove his worthiness to his father who gave him the east coast to manage, besides running the family business he is building on and improving the casinos in Atlantic City, he is also looking to expand into NY but he will have to take that territory from the enemy family, the Santiagos. Santi is not one to be crossed, those who do him wrong do not live to talk about it. Thalia knows she is in enemy territory, but she needs to do what she needs to do, but her gambling does not pay off because she gets picked up by Carrera cartel goons who bring her straight to the devil himself, Santi. Wow, the chemistry between these two is explosive, she stands up to him and gives him hell, but forever masterminding he comes up with a plan, the best revenge that will piss off her father. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and a sizzling romance, slow burn at first but the chemistry and passion between them makes it so worth the wait. Cora Kenborn and Catherine Wiltcher, thank you for this brilliant story and that mind-blowing ending, I am looking forward to find out what happens next.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Aaron Shedlock and Stephanie Nemeth Parker were the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit their character’s persona to a tee, accent and all, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Aaron Shedlock nailed it as a badass, alpha, cartel boss, enhancing some of the intense moments to another level. Stephanie Nemeth Parker’s Thalia was badass too, showing both her fierceness and caring side. These two mega talented voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

A scorching enemies to lovers, mafia romance

Ooooh, I loved this book! I absolutely loved the Carrera and the Santiago trilogies, and this is their legacy! Literally.

Thalia is the headstrong Santiago daughter, being blackmailed and wanting to protect her sister, she puts herself at risk to make the last of the money she needs to pay her blackmailer. But the mysterious man she sees at the casino throws her off her game, and she takes too many chances and puts herself in his sights. Then she learns it’s Santi Carrera, her family’s sworn enemies.

This is truly an enemies to lovers tale. Their families hate each other, with decades of bad blood between them for a multitude of reasons, despite having worked together at one point for a common goal. But all that changes when Santi sees an opportunity, and Thalia is backed into a corner, and these warring families are now bound together through the marriage of their children. Santi sees it as a chance at revenge. He has agreed to give her the money she needs for just one week of a marriage where she must make it appear as genuine as possible. And Thalia is so desperate to protect her sister, that she’ll do anything, so she agrees.

This is so intriguing, the way the grievances of the parents are carried down to the children. And the children carry those grievances ferociously and loyally. But when it comes down to it, when they’re met with the enemy, face to face, do they really understand what the fighting is for? There is so much back story in both of these families. I loved seeing them come together like this, and I can’t wait to read the next book in this duet!!

The narration is exceptional, adding a depth of emotion to the characters that only enhances the story more. Absolutely loved it.

LOVE this! Anxiously awaiting the next one!

Its sooo good to be back in these two worlds! I love each series separately but together they are equally amazing! The two main characters are devilish and full of wit and spunk. I love them both! They each offered me a shock, surprise and everything I come to love about mafia stories. Secondary characters are equally wonderful and I can see their possible stories in the future.

My only complaint is this is a duet and ends in a cliffhanger. Not my favorite. It is making me eagerly await the next in the series. I can only imagine what Santi is going to do…

I did listen to this on audio. The narrators both do an amazing job bringing these characters to life.

Santi and Thalia ♦️

There is nothing more exciting than a 2nd gen series!!!

Santi is trying to prove himself a strong leader taking over the casino game in New Jersey.
Thalia is being blackmailed into counting cards to stop a tape of sister Ella from circulating.
Circumstances cause them to meet and I’m once the Carerra Santiago names are involved trust and violence become an issue. Santi tried to resist but Thalia found his dark heart. I liked that she was a virgin but disappointed there were very few steamy scenes.
Ends on a major cliffhanger!!

Love, love loved the cameos of all our favorites. Glad we got Daddy Dante but sad no Eve.

Narration was good, especially the Spanish parts. But did not love how the female did the male voices.
