About this listen

With his tawny mane, battle-hewn brawn, and ferocious roar, Angus “The Lion” MacDonald is the most fearsome warrior Lady Gwendolen has ever seen - and she is his most glorious conquest. Captured in a surprise attack on her father's castle, Gwendolen is now forced to share her bed with the man who defeated her clan. But, in spite of Angus's overpowering charms, she refuses to surrender her innocence without a fight. With her stunning beauty, bold defiance, and brazen smile, Gwendolen is the most infuriating woman Angus has ever known - and the most intoxicating. Forcing her to become his bride will unite their two clans. But conquering Gwendolen's heart will take all his skills as a lover. Night after night, his touch sets her on fire. Kiss after kiss, his hunger fuels her passion. But, as Gwendolen's body betrays her growing love for Angus, a secret enemy plots to betray them both.

Annoying female characters

The only reason I gave this 3 stars was because the story line was okay and moved along for the most part. However, by the middle of the book, the mother and the main female character, Gwendolyn, started to get on my nerves. By the end, I couldn't stand either one of them. The mother is shallow and conniving throughout the whole book, but she isn't the "villain."

When the book starts, Gwendolyn is a strong woman who will stand up for what is right. For the rest of the book, she is a wimp. She immediately forgives everyone who screws her over again and again. It gets really annoying!! The only character with any backbone is a minor female villain.

I'm not usually too critical of the performances, but this was not very good. The narrator kept slipping in and out of Scottish and English accents. It wasn't consistent at all.

Mesmerizing, Captivating

I so love plot, Tlthe medium pace that left me still feeling as though I was actually turning to the next captivating page to the constant roller-coaster of enchantment

Angus, Oh My Goodness!

Would you consider the audio edition of Claimed by the Highlander to be better than the print version?

Didn't read the print version

Have you listened to any of Antony Ferguson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Of course, he is wonderful.

Any additional comments?

A great addition to the series. Don't miss out.

So roaringly seductive in her story telling. I can't wait to read the next in the series. I did not think I could love Angus.

I love the Scottish highlander stories. Their fierce love and fighting make them an honorable read! I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I'm only sad that there is only one more.

Good

This book was just good for me. I wish I coul dhave rated it as great but I did not get the wow feeling. For all that Angus did in book 1, he should have been made to suffer some and then repent for his sins but that did not happen. The idiocity of him to belief that everyone should just worship him! The narrator is not to my liking but he did a good enough job.

Good 2nd book in the Highland warrior romance

Good follow on story - it 's 2 years on and this is the tale of Angus who betrayed his best friend in book 1 and his torment but final redemption thanks to Gaendolene who first fights against him then fights for him. Nice.

I thought the narrator did a good job too.

So, worth the credit? Definitely.

More sex than good storyline. The story didn't appear until a couple of chapters before the end.

Better Than Some--Not As Good As Others

I enjoyed Book 1 much more than Book 2, but I think Julianne MacClean is a talented author. The amount of anger and yelling in Book 2 was off-putting...and the plot was not very original.

I'm hoping the 3rd Book in the series will be more enjoyable.

Antony Ferguson performed well for both male and female voices.
