The Toddman-Taylor saga continues in a new direction, exploring love and loss, career and family, forgiveness and redemption in this stand-alone addition to the gripping Web series. Fast-paced chapters propel unforgettable characters through the turmoil of overlapping and often conflicting commitments.
Wedding bells are set to ring. April Toddman, the darling of the Jordon's retail dynasty, feels blessed. Her handsome, amiable fiance, Kyle Clark, is passionate and shares her dreams. No couple could ask for a more promising future. And yet, just days before they are to exchange their marriage vows, their perfect world begins to crumble. Fate steps in and puts April and Kyle to the test. Will they successfully thread their way through the conflicting webs to secure their happiness?
With unfamiliar ground beneath their feet, April and Kyle must confront an unrelenting tsunami of obligations: to other - to their budding careers - and to themselves.
A child without a mother.... A wedding without a honeymoon.... A mother without a family. Beloved characters old and new weave secrets, mistakes, accidents, and lies into intricate webs of conflict as they strive to protect the generation of tomorrow.
Readers young and old will be held captive by the bold decisions these characters make to take charge of their destinies.

3.5 starsWhile the story was entertaining, engaging and enjoyable overall, it took me a while to really get interested and be pulled into the story. It just wasn’t holding my attention in the beginning. Once I was pulled into the story ( a couple of hours in) it kept my full attention until the end.
Even though this is the 5th book in the series it is the first book that I have listened to in the series. Each book can be listened to as a standalone. I might have enjoyed the story a bit more had I already been familiar with all the characters many of which have already had their own books in the series. The connection to the characters wasn't there for me like it would have been if I had read the previous books.
Great well rounded cast of characters. Both likable, unlikable, annoying, selfish and obnoxious. The characters and their actions were very realistic. It was easy to relate to many of them.
Life never goes exactly as planned. It's unpredictable. You have this perfect picture in your mind then fate steps in, throws you a few curve balls and your life is never the same again. Unfortunately how some choose to deal with their issues has an affect on everyone around them. Some people choose to create chaos just to satisfy their own agenda regardless of who it hurts in the process or if it's the right thing to do. This is definitely a tangled web of events and circumstances that surround the characters in this story.
This is the first time I have listened to Karen Allers narrate a book according to my records but her voice sounds familiar. Overall she did a really good job. There was something a bit off for me with her narration I just can't put my finger on it. I think maybe it's that her narration seems a bit flat at times. But then again she did a really good job with the narration. She has a pleasant voice. She has some really good character voices, others(male) could uses a little work. Her narration is clearly spoken with a nice smooth pace. As the story went on whatever was "off" for me faded into the background. This just may be a case of it's me not the narrator. I would definitely listen to her narrate other books.

The narration was one of the best I have listened to so far as each character is easily distinguishable.
I would definitely love to hear more of Darlene Quinn’s books.

Captivating

I enjoyed this book, but seemed like the characters that were "good" were almost to good and the flawed characters seemed to have no redeeming qualities. I liked how all the stories were connected and it was an interesting story.
Multiple stories that make for a great story.

A continuation of the Webs series finds April Toddman about to get married. There are many events that will have the listener wondering if the wedding will actually happen. We get plenty of drama, angst, suspense and romance to keep us on the edge of our seat. I totally enjoyed this book that focuses more on personal lives than careers.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Karin Allers draws the listener inside the story.

What did you love best about Conflicting Webs?
the story line, although it dragged in a few places, the story, the characters, the drama, everything pulled me right in.What other book might you compare Conflicting Webs to and why?
I don't like to compare books because all books should be rated solely on their own merit.Which character – as performed by Karin Allers – was your favorite?
April - always the level headed one.Any additional comments?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would recommend this audiobook because it is a very interesting story full of great story lines that hook you from the moment you start. It is easy to get so involved with all the characters lives that you are still thinking about them after you have tore yourself away to get back to your real life.Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character would have to be Madison. I was extremely interested in how she was going to move forward with her life after having such a tragic event happen in her life. I also related to Madison because my children are my life and I can remember what it felt like when my children were the same ages as her children in the story. What does Karin Allers bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love how Ms Allers brings life to the characters by giving each character their own "voice".When I am reading a book I sometimes don't stop to give characters the emotions the author has written and you get a totally different feel to the story when you hear that in the narrators voice. I particularly enjoyed the accent she gave the character of Bill. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Since I originally read "Conflicting Webs" I have been witness to seeing how parents deal with a young adult who has a brain disorder. Listening to how Britany's parents had different views on what was best for her brought back a lot of the memories of how difficult that situation can become.Any additional comments?
I enjoyed being able to listen to this story as it had been a while since I had read the book. It is like going back to visit old friends.Totally different experience

This is my first experience in the Webs series but found it engaging from the first chapter. It can be listened to as a stand-alone quite easily and I never felt lost. The characters were very realistic - some I loved, some not so much. But isn't that life? Conflicting Webs was quite a long listen but the pace of the story made the time fly by. It was well written and helps to show us that we all connected and that our actions can affect many others. The narrator did a great job with the different characters. I would recommend this.I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator. This review is my honest opinion.
