About this listen

Christian, meet your conscience.

What do you do when you disagree with other Christians? How do you determine which convictions are negotiable and which are not? How do you get along with people who have different personal standards?

All of these questions have to do with the conscience. Yet there is hardly a more neglected topic among Christians. In this much-needed book, a New Testament scholar and a cross-cultural missionary explore all 30 passages in the New Testament that deal with the conscience, showing how your conscience impacts virtually every aspect of life, ministry, and missions. As you come to see your conscience as a gift from God and learn how to calibrate it under the lordship of Jesus Christ, you will not only experience the freedom of a clear conscience but also discover how to lovingly interact with those who hold different convictions.

This book is written clearly and thoughtfully. Very practical in relating to people inside and outside the church. The points about the conscience are supported with scripture. Will definitely listen to again.

Decoupling conscience from command is essential to Christian missions and intercultural relations. You will most likely profit from these men’s insights and experiences.

Note: the Audible description should indicate that D.A Carson wrote the forward (and is often quoted in the text), while J.D. is the coauthor.

Many Christians still struggle with the idea of the conscience and how it influences heavily our decisions and relationships. This book provides and excellent overview of the definition of the conscience and the practical implication when we don’t acknowledge that we need to calibrate and/or correct and nurture our conscience thru the Word of God, other Christians and the work of the Holy Spirit
